RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
Hi Guys, im building my ST Pro at the moment, but i have become angry at this setup, im still busy on my front wishbones, bone i have noticed that i have 1x 8x16 ball bearing missing, the kit should have 18 and i only received 17. Did any of you have the same problems as me? [Front and Rear Diff 4x 8x16's / centre diff 1x 8x16 / front hubs 4x 8x16 now i still require another 6 bearings. 2x for the rear gearbox and 4x for the rear hubs.]
|
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
Are you positive you didn't misplace the 2 packages (Tubes) of bearings?
|
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
no im sure, i received 2 tubes with bearings in it, and currently i have 5 bearings left still need to do the rear gearbox and rear hubs.
|
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
you can email them and wait a week or so to get the one bearing, or go buy one at the lhs, not an issue really. might as well buy a whole set, they won't last forever either.

Well Its All Broken In :D
This thing drives GREAT.! I really like the way it lifts up the rear inside wheel while turning, looks cool :D Just a few questions again. Can I wash the wheels + tyres, Theres so much of grease + drit on the rear left tyre + wheel, because the exhaust gasses get blown straight to it. Second is there any way to stop the body from melting onto the exhaust.? Thanks Guys :D |
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
20% simple green will leave it looking brand new, the key is let it sit on there for a minute, then rinse. take off radio tray and engine then spray and hose off, wd-40 and done. the pipe looks like its sitting a bit hight, try lifting the header and have the pipe more horizontal, it rests on the side guard, melt that instead.

RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
The truck is clean
Only the Rear Left tyre + wheel is disgusting because the exhaust blows the smoke into it. So is it safe just to wash the wheels + tyres.? Yeah I cant get my JP 4 to go lower down. Have tried everything,. It hasent even seen dirt yet [:-] I just brushed whatever lil' was on it. My only complaint with it is the brakes.! It really needs better ones. Ill try re-adjusting them now. Thanks |
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
I use exhaust heat shield from an atv. I get it from my work since I am a motorcycle tech. If you go to you local kawasaki dealer and order part #16073-0014 and it is a huge heat shield for like 15-20 buck and you can do probably about 10 cars or so. It is stuck under the rear fender and protects the exhaust from melting the plastic. Just clean off the inside of your body and cut of a sheet and stick it on. I do it to all of my bodies and they stay like new.

RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
Thanks :D
We dont have a Kawasaki dealer, but I know a place where I can get it :D I prefer Yamaha :D |
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
sportbikes like the R1 and R6 also have heat shield inside of there side fairings that is the same as the atv's. Just make sure you get a pretty big piece because they are all different prices so find the biggest one so you have plenty left in the future.

here's a couple shots of the mods i've done. 8.5 c-hubs, brake horn, hub extender locks (my favorite, no more 3 wheel action), losi 8 shocks with extensions (still need a little work to get full down travel), radio box, ace and hitec servos and sts d21b with dynamite 007 HT pipe and header.

Hey J_Blaze,
Can you take a look at the photo and let me know if ive mounted the top centre diff plate right. Ive done it as the manual states, but your photos show it the other way round. Is there a reason you turned it round? Cheers, A |
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
do you really only need that little of an antenna for 2.4ghz radio?
|
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
That intersting as I have that center plate turned 180 degrees.

RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
ORIGINAL: vnmsgt ORIGINAL: wrat ORIGINAL: vnmsgt They hyper shocks are 14mm and the Kyosho big bores are 16mm so they are bigger. I have both and you can see the difference. My ST-RR shock spacers are too big to put on my Hyper too which says the shock bodies are bigger. mate..ive checked and re checked..i have them on callipers rite infront of me..they are 16mm shocks..ive bought 4 sets now off fleebay and they are all 16mm shocks... |
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
sorry, it was backwards, i was working on the brakes to get on some aluminum servo arms. its back to normal now. actually, i realized if i bend the brake bar thing, it engages better, instead of having to pull all the way out, i'll get some pics...
|
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
Wrat, why have you bought four new sets of shocks off flea-bay? Do they break easily or what?? So what you're saying is that the stock Hyper ST Pro shocks are 16mm??
IF that's the case, are there any bigger that would fit on? |
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
Guys, ive ordered the Racers Edge Super High Temp Brake Disks for Kyosho/Hyper/Jammin/Hot Bodies Buggies (2).
Are they any good. Also took the Himoto V2 High Down Force Wing, any idea if that would fit. Thanks :D |
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
Some photos would be great, thanks Blaze.
This is my first build and im really taking my time (Call of Duty 4 has proven a BIG distraction). If I could only get my diffs to stop leaking.... |
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
Wrat I thought the same thing about the hyper shocks.
If you measure the outside of the hyper shock it is 16mm where as the kyosho shocks use a 16mm shock piston. I have'nt done it yet but measure your shock piston and you will find it isnt 16mm unlike the kyoshos One of the guys at the club has big bore shocks and looking at them they are physically fatter than mine, looks almost 18mm, anyway hope that helps |
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
No one know how the brakes will work [&o]

RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
I have been trying to find the right pre filter for my ST Pro.
It seems that there are 2 different filter assembly's available. The problem is that they both have the same part number. For OFNA the part number is 28065 And for Hobao the part number is 88065 This is my filter http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...ST/DPP_008.jpg And this is the other filter that I have seen on other ST Pro's. See the thickness of the black edge of the filter. http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...ST/DPP_009.jpg When I order a pre filter the part I get is the grey one. When I want the creme one that is wider. Does Hobao\OFNA know that they are two different parts? If so what is the part number for the creme one and where can I buy them? Thanks |
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
if they are similar to the losi's you'll be happy.
