RE: the hyper st PRO thread!

ORIGINAL: Ev1er

Have anyone tested it against the Team losi 8ight-T?
Anybody knows onlinesites, where its reviewed?
I am wondering if I am going to choose Yhe hyper or the 8ight-T:S?
Wow, you need to just buy one already. You've asked the same question countless times.

Can anyone answer my question above?

annie you can throw it around, be aggressive with it. and still it has a lot of steering. could just be my
setup but its very similiar to my hyper 8 handling wise. i think the st has a little more steering in the
high speed sections of the track over the 8. but again it has a lot to do with setup. havent driven the
losi t so i cant really compare them.

RE: the hyper st PRO thread!

i've driven both the hyper and the losi, given the both are the RTR versions, not the roller and pro, but really there isn't much in it, both were using stock setup except 37.5 WT oil in the rear of my 8ight and some toe adjustments in the front, the hyper is a bit easier to drive with the stock setup, the 8ight it very over steer oriented, likes to swing the rear end out both under brakes and power, but if you can get used to power sliding it the losi is fast, the hyper is easier to drive fast then the losi though.

I got my St Pro RTR about 3 weeks ago. Comnes with the new Hyper 28 Turbo engine @ 2.7 hp.
What a beauty. Goes a lot better than the old mach 28.
what do you think?

I don't like that style of driving. I like electric off-road style the best. Throwing a race car around the track makes it feel unstable in my eyes.

Did you say that the pro comes with the engine too. If so can you tell me where to buy it.

HoBao Makes Pro RTR's, like the ST PRO with that Hyper 28 and also the Hyper 8.5 with a Hyper .21, but I think they are only for sale on the other side of the world!

RE: the hyper st PRO thread!

Well it still comes with rubbish radio gear and a pullstart engine so its not a 'real' pro;)

Im looking at buying the Hyper ST pro RTR mabye next year somtime, but i dont know exactly when. wefishtoo how is the stock engine on the RTR?? is it easy to tune and relaible?
Also how is the ST pro bashing wise? i wouldnt mind getting into racing but i do love to bash, so how well does it hold up to stacks (small to big crashes) does it break often? and how does it handle in the air?

RE: the hyper st PRO thread!

I don't find the stock engine a problem at all. It is the new HYPER 28 TURBO which is different to the Macstar 28. It was a real sh@# to get started being very tight but after 2 tanks of 20% it was easier. Changed the pullstart for a tiger drive , changed the shock oil for 100wt rear and 80 wt front and that is all at this stage. The shock oil made a lot of difference in the handling . Comes with the basic Hobao radio gear. The standard 9kg steering servo is very quick. If it doesn't give me grief, i won't change anything. I do however have a new STS 30 sitting around in case

That thing looks bad ass!!! I have just read the new review of this truggy today in the mags and after debating on getting a kyosho st-r kit, st1 kit, or the high dollar st-rr kit I am sold on the hyper pro!! Especially at amain for 469! I read in RC driver that it comes 80% assembled and the new RC Car Action just said it comes as a complete kit. which one is it? I am in the mood to BUILD and want a full kit!! I will probably be ordering it tomorrow hopefully.

RE: the hyper st PRO thread!

It comes as a kit. You can get one on Ebay for $399 w/$16 shipping.(mac_hobbies). Type in Hyper ST Pro and it should come up. You will love the quality of parts. It has a lot of CNC aluminum and carbon fiber.

RE: the hyper st PRO thread!

thanks man, thats awesome at 399.00 I am waiting for a friend to right me back to see if he can match that price and if not I am getting it!!!!!!!!!! That is going to make 3 truggies I have along with my other buggies it says below. Choices, choices, choices on what to take to the track everyweek[:@][:@]

RE: the hyper st PRO thread!

Anyone know if I have to change the motor mounts that come with the kit to put a rotostart on it?

zJatoRad 10-29-2007 11:16 PM

RE: the hyper st PRO thread!

I doubt it, what engine are you planning to run on it?

I would use the Hyper 8.5 (buggy) Engine mounts though, I personally don't like the hyper st (RTR and PRO) engine mounts because they use a nut. The 8.5 engine mounts usually go for 9 - 11 bucks plus shipping on ebay, a lot of sellers are parting the buggy out.

vnmsgt 10-30-2007 06:19 AM

RE: the hyper st PRO thread!

I am probably going to put a axial .28 spec 1 or a axial .28 RR. I have a bumpbox but rarely use it. I always end up using rotorstarts.

enjoy ya hyper st pro mate...excellent truggy..i bash it around with my sts .30...it fly's...no complaints yet...

RE: the hyper st PRO thread!

Anything I should know about these truggies as I put it together and before I run it like things to check for or certain tweaks to do, or occuring problems they have that can be fixed before it happens to me? This is going to be my first one that I have to build, I have always bought rtr's in the past. Can't wait!!

RE: the hyper st PRO thread!

the center spider diff is already assembled but in my ucnles kit it didn't had any oil or anything at all, so I suggest checking it. Also make sure you put permanent loktite on the steering spindle screw.
