No, the CNC carriers/steering blocks, whatever else they're called..

Here(just the first random pic I found..):

wow, you must have fallen off a 10 story building to do that. i have hit everything, landed every way and not broken any knuckles in truggy or buggy. i have a spare set unopened i thought i would need. that may have been a bad one but i do not think it is common to do that. that one is cnc, the cast ones are more silverish in color and those are junk. my problem today was clutch bearings, still looking for a cure.

That's not mine - just one (of the several..) from a German forum.. Mine just backed out, and then stripped out, REALLY easily..

So are you saying the CEN truggy knuckles are a direct fit?? I need some kind of backups, but no way in hail will I buy these things.. I was gonna just buy the cheap RTR alu ones(they can't be worse than the CNC..), but if there's a better solution................

the cen truggy/buggy c-hubs fit with some trimming. the hobao plastic c-hubs were cracking along the bottom of the mud guard and i did not want to take a chance. i had the aluminum ones sitting around. trust me, the cnc hobao knuckles are extremely tough and durable, you just have to use a longer screw in there and locktite it in.

Wow, i've never had that problem.
Well only once and i hit a sandstone block after taking my eyes off my buggy Hyper 8 pro which runs the same knuckles. Cracked through at the same point.
Never had this problem with my Hyper ST.

HerrSavage, what were you doing when it broke ? What did you hit ?

This may also be caused by a bad batch of these being made.

HerrSavage 07-23-2008 06:47 AM

RE: the hyper st PRO thread!

THE BROKEN ONE ISTN'T MINE.. Is just one pic from several people on a German forum that have had this problem.. Many have stripped theirs' out, and this guy - and he's not the only one - have outright broken them. On mine(right front) the threads just stripped out - after like four, max five tanks of running the new truck..

In the meantime I've just ordered some cheap alu RTR ones as backups.. Never in a million years would I order the expensive CNC ones - not for that price, and given these problems..

looks like the c-hub was cracked on top too, thats why i went to aluminum ones.

i've been using ebay for most of my parts, found a fast cheep seller too.

RE: the hyper st PRO thread!

great day today, i had zero clutch issues, no hub pins fell out, no diffs leaked, no shocks leaked, no arms broke, no screws fell out, no clutchbells got eaten. only minor issues were a popped out steering linkage and a stretched out shock ball end. absolutely one of the best days the hyper has had. my only problem, which was a major one, is i upgraded the screws on the rb s5 to the hex head screws. i tightened them on there "pretty" tight but 2 head screws backed out and the carb screw fell out allowing the carb to shift up and down making tuning and racing almost impossible. it would start fine, and run fine up and down the grass but after about 2 or 3 laps it would lean bog in the bottom end then half way down the straight away it would richen up enough and take off, then lean bog all the way around the track. still managed to place 12th overall and get up to second in the b main before the motor got so hot on a muddy track with about 5lbs of mud on it (literally) it lean bogged to a stop. after the turnmarshall carried it to the pit and we found a temp gun it was at 450. but what a fun race it was, if i could have gotten another few minutes out of it i would have bumped and hopefully found the problem and had a properly tuned motor for the 30 minute main. glow plug was black, motor still has a all its pinch ad ran fine after it cooled a lot. love those rb's. for the next race i should have no problems and win.

Hey guys being a newbie and a bush basher and not having any RC local mates I have a problem which the fix is properly steering me in the face but ill ask any way in the hope of saving time
I have the Hyper ST RTR and am getting air bubbles in flue line which seamed to be coming from the in line filter so I removed for now just to see if that was the problem ( already replaced hose)
but still getting bubbles in line though not as bad. Dose this mean there's some thing wrong with my fuel tank ??????? [>:]

maybe, check the cap and make sure it pops when you close it. you may need to tighten the screw inside it.

Running the Hyper on a track(second track - I like it better than the local club one, cuz it's bigger and more open.. AND FREE..) Only about the 12th tank on the truck..

Radio question..: was just checking out the steering on my Hyper, and see that, to get the same amount of right steering as I have of left, I need to set the EPA for the right to 125, whereas for left it's at 100..

Is this bad?

Resetting the arm is VERY VERY difficult.. I have an alu arm on there, and it doesn't come off easily.. And even then, I think I've tried before, and could never get it any more centered than what it is now..

I just put some offset rims on, and it seems to me I should be able to get some more steering out of it..

BTW, what are "EXP" and "rate"??(I have an XS-6 Pro - i.e. the old stock LST2 radio..) I know EPA is to set how far the servo can turn, but what are these other two??

Thanks..

Anyone of you guys tried the composite clutch shoes? I'm just wondering if it is any good and last longer. I'm planning to get one.

Excuse my English, I think it is bad, IT's pretty easy to adjust them, just set the left and right turnbuckles to equal length, then make sure the car go straight by adjusting the turn buckle which attached to servo horn. make sure the horn is pointing/positioned as close as possible to 12 'o'clock.

Resetting the arm is VERY VERY difficult.. I have an alu arm on there, and it doesn't come off easily.. And even then, I think I've tried before, and could never get it any more centered than what it is now..

Exp is Exponent. from my experience, when you disable it, you'll have linear respond steering when you turn the steering wheel, car also become very sensitive to initial steering input, this is bad for high speed and high bite track, but when you set it to let say 50, steering rate on the car will gradually increase when you turn it, you'll have lesser sensitive on initial steering input but more when you turn it all the way. this is good for maintaining straight line or entering a high speed corner.

Thanks..

Better stick to CNC shoes, composite shoes will unglue itself when you overheat the clutch.

There is definitely something wrong with this truck and it's fuel lid. The seal does not seat properly. Now if you try to tighten the screw you will notice that after a few tiny turns it will strip and that is it. No more sealing the tank. Some people have done the mugen tank mod which you can find instructions on this forum. I simply took a screw that was a bit longer with a washer and that fixed the issue. I'm still running the stock tank.

I'm trying to convert my RTR roller. I have few questions.
Is the diff gears in RTR is the same as the Pro and what make the spider center diff better than the one in RTR diff?
