RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
Alright, well after an entire week of non-stop racing, ive managed to bend the chassis, and quite well at that. Just teaches me, that $5 part is just as important.
Already got a new chassis, gonna run the rest of the week with the bent one, and then will change it out. If anyone needs spare Center Universals, the ones of the Jammin X1 CRT fit fine, I bent the Center Rear one, pulled one off my X1, and voila; perfect fit. Gonna get a set of the Jammin Big Bores this week hopefully, and will then report back on the differience. Just extremely annoying that I destroyed a chassis because I refused to spend $5 ordering a part [:@] |

RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
ORIGINAL: supertib I have now joined the Hyper ST family ..... I just purchased a like new Hyper ST Pro, i should have it here in about 1 week........ How does the Hyper ST like big motors ? and does a .21 have enough power push one ? I prefer running a .28 in mine just because I love the low end grunt these things churn out. But Ive ran the V Spec ( Normal One, Blue Head ) in it numerous times, and it absoloutely hauls a.ss.! Mine tends to kick the back out with the bigger ones, and tends to act like its on rails with the .21's. Whatever you choose ( And I know you have a lot too choose from ), you'll absoloutely love it. |

Was it the RTR or the PRO? The chassis on the RTR is the same I believe but the braces are not. |
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
ORIGINAL: spikeitaudi I did the battery box mod with the 8.5 box and have a Ballistic 1500mah hump pack. It seems to only get 4 full tanks then gets alittle drained. Only used it twice so I am hoping after the 3rd or 4th charge is will be better as it should be fully peaked at that point. I use the same pack on my 1/5th scale on road, and I get all day and then some with that( Three big servos) Should run forever on the ST.:D:D Phil |

Was it the RTR or the PRO? The chassis on the RTR is the same I believe but the braces are not. I ran 3 races with no chassis brace, and I always tend to land on the rear, so those two played major factors in bending it ( I guess ). We've re-bent it back as much as it would go ( I dont want stress marks ) and its a tiny bit better. Waiting for the rear chassis brace to come back on A Main, I wanna order from Nitro House, but they dont carry the glow plugs I use, and I cant see myself ordering from two differient places and paying shipping, twice... |
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
Cycleops what batter are you using that is 2700mah? Link please.
Qaiz when you say waiting for the rear chassis brace are you talking about the pro brace or the plastic RTR? Don't you have a Pro kit on the shelf? Why not just take out the brace and use that and replace when you get it from Nitrohouse? Also as you are using the HYper 8.5 brace and it still bent I am assuming it wasn't the right fit then? Any pics? Hope you had a good day racing at least :) |

Hope you had a good day racing at least :) The brace that comes with the RTR isnt plastic, was suprised when I found that out. The Pro brace isnt a direct fit, I need a longer wing mount, Im trying not to use my Pro kit as my parts bin because Ive got big plans for that :D. The Hyper 8.5 Brace was a fit, but not anymore. Ill get pics up soon, waiting on the camera to charge. It was worth it tho, Ive not had this much fun in a long time :D Saturdays the last racing day, and then a 3 day break, gonna get the Front + Rear brace and change the rear one out, just noticed a hair-line fracture in the front one. Changed out the center universals to the ones that Jammin make ( LHS Did'nt have the Hyper specific ones in stock ) , perfect fit, and still gotta sand down and adjust the brakes ( Starting to slip ). And I still gotta install all my electrics in. Pics shortly |
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
Thank Qaiz for clearing that up. Didn't know the pro brace wasn't a direct fit to the RTR.
|
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
Thanks for the pics. You must be doing so hard landings :).
|
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
Yeah lol, I tend to keep landing on the rear. Still have to work on my control in the Air, but it HAS taken a shed load of beatings.!
Already got a new chassis, will throw that in on Saturday. Just gotta get a set of braces and im ready to go :D. |
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
How is the diff oil setup working out on the track for you?
|
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
Still a bit loose at the rear, and too loose at the front, ive re-done it to 10 - 30 - 7, still gotta try that out. Gotta fine-tune the shocks too, running 40 - 45, gotta down that to around 30 - 35. But I love the way it slides around the track, the Pro tyres makes the thing handle handle like its on rails.!
Gonna get a set of Pro-lines soon, and check how those preform, my RTR tyres have pretty much had it. After Saturday Im gonna have to do an entire tear-down and clean everything up. Re-do the shocks + diffs. Just waiting on the set of BB's to get back in stock @ the LHS. |

RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
Does anyone know if this will fit in the Hyper ST
http://www.amazon.com/Receiver-Pack-...7179970&sr=8-8 What would the benefit of having this battery over a 1600MAH humpack? |
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
I highly doubt that is going to fit as it is 3.5 x 3.3 x 0.9 inches. That is big and wide.
Only thing it would give you longer run times before you needed to charge. |
RE: the hyper st PRO thread!
I dont know if it will fit. But the benifits are: Longer "run times" Meaning more tanks to run with less charging. and its a stick pack IN some RC's if it fits then you have lots of extra space goo if you have a big reciever. And its nice to have a little space to see whats going on. IM sure if you measure you radio box and look at the demensions of the pack you will see if it can fit or not.
