RE: the hyper st PRO thread!

lol, sorry.

Well when i opened it up and pulled the shoes off one of the pins that held a shoe in place came off with the shoe ( i'm using aluminium shoes ). One or more of the shoes had gotten stuck to the CB and would not disengage. It happened quickly enough that i didn't realise what was going on with an end result of a stuffed engine which i can fix when i can pump a few $$$ back into it.

Clutch bell is fine, the bearings were brand new ( protek rubber shielded 10 for 9.95 off Amain )

For the record i do periodic maintenance on the shoes and had just done so during the week prior to this happening.

i've been using the hobao fly wheel with the rc8 nut and clutch shoes/springs, simply awesome. so easy to work on and adjust and should last a while with the max life shoes. 1.1 springs give the truck a nice kick when the motor hits mid, i love it.

hey guys, really quick question.
Do the hyper st pro chassis braces (cnc'd ones) fit straight onto the rtr or have they been moved for the pro?

cheers

Adam

My Pro kit is finally here!!! I can't wait to get this bad boy built. Anyone know if this part number will fit for a replacement tranny?

RE: the hyper st PRO thread!

I would expect it is, because there is so much more metal, but Ihaven't weighed them.

OK So I got 7/10/5 diff oil in my diffs and it pushes around the bend on power really bad. Was going to change out to 10/20/3. Thoughts?

Baseball mount clay/dirt.

I think 5000 is too much in the rear.
Most people use 1000 to 3000 in the rear. I think...lol

what are the good points of the Hyper ST RTR and the bad points?

Yea I think I am going to go 10/20/3. It pushes real hard on power around the bend.

Maybe try posting that in the Official Hyper ST RTR Thread and not the Pro.

wouldn't a lighter center oil increase on-power and reduce overall acceleration? wouldn't something like 5/5/1 be an on-power beast?

Hey guys, I am almost done with finishing my Hyper ST. I didn't use any grease on my diffs, (not in but on them, just to make it clear:)) Is this ok or do I have to put some on it? And what kind of stuff do I need? That yellow-jello:) they supplied in the kit (cuz it's metal on metal)? Thanks

spikeitaudi 08-24-2008 05:17 PM

RE: the hyper st PRO thread!

If you are talking about the crown gear on the outside of the diff to the drive pinion gear you need to put grease on it. I think the kit comes with a grease that is red in color. NOt exactly sure, but I do remember the kit supplying grease for it. And yes I hope you did put Diff oil in the diff itself. :)

Lighter oil would increase on power as less dense oil mean easier to move. So how would that reduce accelerations? 5/5/1 I agree would be a on-power beast, but for what setup of a track.

RE: the hyper st PRO thread!

Ok thanks, yes they included some yellow grease. But I didn't use it but I put some Anti-wear Grease on the diff that was layin around. It was included in one of my Tamiya kits.
