Just Received my Durafly Spitfire last Saturday, its a beautiful Electric Kit 1100 mm Wingspan 970 Length for starters, so far I am thrilled with the Level of Scale combined with high quality construction and finish.

Its my first Electric model ever and my first Spitfire so I am really looking forward get it on the air soon.

I would like to be part of the Brotherhood.

Hi Brothers;
I added one more layer of cloth in the nose of the plane and around the firewall. As you can see in the pictures, it came out great!! I don't know if it added more weight to the fuse, because I did not weight it before I start laying the glass. I also work some small strip of cloth around the bulkhead that hold the push rods for the tail. I know they use some type of hot glue, but, I still saw a lot of open space around the bulkhead. I am thinking of mounting the fuel tank right on the C. G., but that is down the road. Next I will mount the engine and I will post pictures. I will tell anyone you will buy and build the ESM 72.5" Spitfire, beef up the nose of this plane. You be glad you did!!

Brothers:
More updates. Hung the engine today as you can see in the pictures.. I look at installing the gas tank at the C.G. but found the tank will not leave room for the servos.
I did what oldtimer 4759 said in his post and drop the cowling over the engine and found the cowling will cover the whole engine with small cut out for the muffler pipes and the spark plug wire. That will be down the road before I mount the cowling. I am also going to go with a choke servo and have it setup on a switch on the DX-18. The next thing I have to come up with, a working door that will cover the panel that have the on/off swtich, the kill switch and the fuel dot. The lines on the fuse look so good!!! Maybe tevans55 can post some close up shots of his switch set!!!
I hope we have one more good weekend of weather. For the last few days, the temp has drop in the low 40's That is telling me, we will have a cold winter here in the great northwest!!!
Stay tune for more updates!!!

Check out the Aviation Concepts Switch Hide. It's about half way down the page on the Hangtimes website.

Nice Sonny.
At this pace you'll be able to get it done before the end of the season. :-)
You never know, we may have a really nice Fall. That's what I am hoping for.
I'll stay tuned in for your updates.

Lookin' good Sonny. The added weight, probably a small amount, is mostly up front where it is needed any way.

KaP2011;
Thanks for the link!!! That is what I am looking for. I found a panel line on the fuse that will make a good place to hide the switches!!
Thanks, again for the link!!

Hi Dave,
definitely list worthy! It is a Spitfire (any & all). Do you have any pics. Let's have a look.
I am sure #1 will add you to the squadron soon.

Just my form of a gentle reminder. As I sit here alone. In the dark.

lessee, pics... I have some shelf paper on the tops of the wings to aid orientation, a temporary measure I hope.

Hi Dave,
thanks for the pic.
Looks like she just came back from sortie action. Great.
Let's see, at 198 and I think 12 aircraft per R.A.F. squadron .... 16.5 squadrons yeeeaah!

Here is a picture of warplanes used to honor the inspirational bravery and gallantry of Battle of Britain fighter pilots who were engaged in the world's most critical air combat in the defense of Western Civilization values flown through fighter plane maneuvers recently over Oregon.

The smaller PZ Mk II Spitfire made history this year by flying for the very first time in the small area next to my house where the Original PZ Corsair, PZ Wildcat, and Tower Hobbies F6F can be comfortably flown. My Spit Mk II flies first once every year along with newer models that tend to be flown less and less as more and more newer fighters need field modifications and test flying to be brought up to war combat proficiency.

There are some really great things going on in the media today featuring Spitfires and immortal quotes of Sir Winston Churchill. VICTORY IN OUR TIME IS SURELY UNSTOPPABLE!

Out.

Something or someone tampered with my original picture.

All of my pictures even those copied and sent to two (2) different e-mail addresses to enjoy good back up protection have now evidently been permanently lost. They say, "it's always the one you don't see that gets you."

SPIT MK VIII ....
Here are a few pics of my surgery on the Century Jet Spit fuse. I cut the tail off of a yellow Spit and attached it to my Century Jet Spit's fuse. I will be using the Yellow wing (in the background) with what I believe are Sierra's landing gear. More pics to follow ...

that plane hit a bird and the plane was lost. Don't have any other photos. The switch is mounted to some thin ply webbing at the back of the wheel well. My rebuilt Spitfire has dual batteries so I mounted the switches under the wing on the black stripe just outside of the wheel well. I also put my retract fill valve there as well. Hope this helps.
