The beautiful Yellow Aircraft Spitfire has functional exhausts. It sounds great and looks good when it gives a puff of smoke out of them. Paul who built and owns it is a real wizard when it comes to building skills. It is very impressive up close.

I'm sure the brotherhood will appreciate this
90 min documentary about an English team building a Mk.I Spit to original specs. Full attention to detail.
At 30:50 they tackle the wing, explaining how to machine the elliptical curves. Pure gold!

Typical of a lot of restorations of these Warbirds. They salvage what parts they can but a lot of the parts are hand crafted or found in storage somewhere. A P51 can built off the shelf from parts available, so nothing new about what they did with this Spit. Basically they get a data plate and off they go and it becomes a rebuilt fighter or bomber.

As far as I can tell this Mk.I Spit is hand crafted using similar machinery and the original building methods: bend some metal, test fit on a jig, repeat until the gap is 1mm or less
They say that the Duxford team (presently the most experienced Spitfire builders in the world) need 1 YEAR to build set of wings.

Hi Guys,
Had some fun yesterday morning with two Spitfires flying around together at the field.
The first is a beautifully built Yellow Aircraft Spitfire with a 3W-85 engine flown by fellow club member Paul. The second was myself and my Pica Spitfire with the DLE-55RA. Paul flew my Pica Spitfire last week and said it was very similar in flight characteristics to his Yellow Aircraft model. The 3W engine does pull the Spitfire along somewhat faster.
It has taken a year of trying to get these two planes up together and now that it has happened we plan on doing it much more with slow formation flying included.

love spitfires for their sheer beauty and what they did in saving England in wwII. I have a .60 powered Spit Mark9 ARF. Flies great but retract set up needs redoing. need to install 2 servo electrics and get rid of 1 servo mechanical--gear buckles on landing. Also have a 480 type ARF new in box. I have picture of Spit on my front license plate.

Hi Guys,
Here is another video.
This one is three 1/6 scale ESM Warbirds, BF109, FW190 and the Spitfire. The FW190 and Spitfire have DLE-30's installed and the BF109 has a DLE35RA.
Paul and his son Matt are flying for the Germans and I am flying the Spitfire.

Hello brothers I bought a Seagull Spitfire and making some changes right now. Maybe you know my thread:

Now Iīm thinking to order new wheels. I like wheels for H9 Spitfire 30 cc. http://www.wheelspinmodels.co.uk/i/208133/
Anybody could post some picture how to attached them to gear axle? Are they precut for some axle?
