Exhaust staining on ESM planes
I've got the FW and the ME-110, while FW has some staining from the exhaust, the ME's light colored paint really crapped up from the gas engine exhausts. One of the mufflers came loose and made a mess. Problem is I can't remove it. Is anyone else having these problems?

RE: Exhaust staining on ESM planes
Exhaust fume staining can be removed with paper towel and alcohol.Think about real life. Look at real warbirds the exhaust pipes always created discoloration and sootie film on the planes. Many scale builders try to duplicate this with paint. Why bother. On my ESM planes I do not remove the exhaust residu from the gas engines. As a matter of fact I leave the lite mud spatter from the wheels on the plane as well. It is more realistic.

RE: Exhaust staining on ESM planes
hi, I have found a product we call "Turpentine or Turps" in Australia, works well, it is used to wash paint brushes after using Enamel paint. dont use it too often, Baby Wipes are pretty good if you get to it straight away.
