Default Composit ARF corsair and Evolution/Seidel 260cc Radial

Hi,

Does anyone know if the EVOLUTION 260 will work on the CARF Corsair or is the engine to big?

I have heard that yes it is too large.

I would suggest you call Steve Tomas, owner of Steves Hangar at Bobs Hobby Center 407-277-1248. He has been testing one on his LA7 and I believe he knows for sure about the Carf Corsair.

I personally test fit a CARF cowl to to Evolution 260 and it is indeed to large for this Corsair, much to my disappointment.

For what its worth. I have heard that the Moki 7 cylinder gives up some of the deep throaty sound you get with the 5 cylinder Moki. The word is the 7 cylinder "buzzes" while the 5 cylinder has that classic roar. You might want to give Goetz Vogelsong a call and ask him about the difference between the two.

from the videos the evo 260 sounds nice than the moki 250. Does anyone have videos or sound test of the moki 250 7 cylinder?

I have flown the 250 and heard the 260 and IMO, the Moki sounds more "full scale", but both sound much better than the 2-stroke alternatives. If the 260 would fit in the CARF, I would opt for that engine anyway, given how much cooler it runs. Unfortunately, that is not an option for the CARF Corsair. Bummer.

If you have seen my CARF Corsair thread with the EVO160, this only just fits with not much clearance for the valve gear, never mind the 260.
