I thought about it, but I am just going to glue it on. The stringer that supports this block of wood, is too high up, so that is not a full size hood. If I were going to make the hood open I would have made one from glass, but the fuse would have to be modified for it to be scale, and I do not need it to open. The TA 152 did not have guns under there anyway, they had the pressurized cockpit pumps and tanks in there. So it would not be that interesting having it open anyway. Not to mention, I am in a time crunch now and have to get this thing done. No time for frivolity! lol

Ha, there's never enough time it seems.....gitt'er dun . I figured you'd have the hood open so you could hide your switches and fuel dot etc. no working hood does make it easier. I'm looking forward to seeing your maiden flight report. There aren't many completed Anderson 152s. I'm still eyeing the Fliteskin TA.

I have not seen a single Andersen TA 152 completed except the prototypes. I have found many build threads that stalled out. Mainly on RCSB. I am sure it will fly great, I just have to make sure I get everything straight. The wing is way complicated. Thankfully I am over that hump. It has that "kink" designed into it that the real aircraft had. Without a solid trailing edge, and relying on those fragile tabs to keep it flat on the building board, keeping that 10' wing straight was a chore. I have exactly 2 degrees of washout though, so I am happy.
I had planned to put all of my switches, pump valve etc in the scale hatch on the side of the fuselage. Those seem to always work out well.

Looking awesome. You'll be the first to complete this bird to my knowledge. And I'm taking notes so post everything. Mine will sit until I get the time to lose my mind with the build. I don't want get burnt out on it as it'll be my only TA and I'm looking forward to it.
Sure wish you'd reconsider making the gun hood so I could benefit from one..lol

He posted on Facebook a new Carbon spinner. I want to try to get a hold of one of those if there are not too unreasonably priced. Otherwise I may just go with the Aluminum one. I need a dummy spinner for static judging. I may just use one as a mold and glass it, as it will only be needed for looks with my 3 blade prop.

I hope my plane qualifies here.
Some time ago i bought TF mustang from my buddy. He broke the wing few years back, than bought new ARC wing replacement and never finished it.
I finished glassing it, painted it, and almost finished weathering at this point. Maiden flight will be some time this month.
It has panel lines but no rivers. I wanted to finish it fairly quickly so I have giant gasser to fly.
Paint scheme is actually from B version. Nomenclature from BF109. DA50, Futaba servos, Sahara regulator with two Lipo and pin switches. Liion with regulator for ignition. JR 1221 receiver. Dry weight 23.5lbs. It should be 24.5 ready to fly.
Noticed where I placed air filled valve and fuel filler line? I still have little work left to do.

Haven't you got enough building going on already, Greg?
LoL
How's that bigarsed F-14 coming along mate?
BJ
PS - that flying saucer thingie could very well have been something the German's created - they were into all sorts of "interesting" projects before the end of WW II...

F14 is progressing slowly, ive got to layup a new fuselage, the current one is to heavy, then get around to designing the nose gear and hydraulic actuators for the mains. Once that is done, i can start doing the final assembly of the flying prototype.

Haha, yea i am really looking forward to the Ta build, it will be a piece of cake compared to this pancake. I thought the pancake was going to be an easy groupd build, then i ended up doing it all in my own. Lol
Once i get the board cleared, i suspect it'll take about 2 1/2-3 months at most to get the TA built and ready for detailing, the 3D printed will help out alot as it can print out my servo hatch liners and screw mounts, along with a few other details.

Hi Andy, it has a good old G62 for power, I had Lenny at Shinden Machine make the custom gear for me, the gear were then converted by Mitch at Down and Locked to electric. I made my own plug & molds for all the parts from my own drawings using Aero Detail and several other 3-views as a reference. I had Coby at Flying Foam CNC cut the foam cores so that if someone else wanted to build one they will get a good consistant core and I don't have to "hot wire" the cores myself. I wanted to build a light weight Emil and since there are no 1/4 scale kits I did my own, The only other 1/4 scale glass and foam 109 is the Meister 109G Platinum kit which is a flying brick. My 109 right now without any radio stuff in the fuse comes in at 29.5 lbs, everything else is installed in the plane. So when I add the fuse servo's, RX, batteries, and fuel tank I'm shooting for 31Lbs, which should give me a nice wing loading compared to the same size model coming in at close to 50lbs! I still have a bunch of detail stuff to do, cockpit, gear doors, wheel hub caps, and numerous other small things but I can afford the extra bit of weight, I usually test fly my junk before it's finished, that way if it crashes I won't have waisted the time, and if it does good I feel better about putting in the extra time.
