Hangar 9 60cc Corsair

Mine seemed to line up OK, although there was quite a gap between wing and fuse when all locked down, filled all that in with balsa sheets.
Seems like everybody has had bad flap hinge point alignment issues....also not happy about the minimal alu flange contact connecting the flaps together....mine only extend about 3 mm into the next flap slit....this maybe enough in practice though and doesn't seem to be an issue for others so far.....but could be better designed by protruding further out.

Wow !!! How did you reheat the glue ?? with a torch or soldering iron ..or ??
And " Cut it out " ....you mean with a sharp razor saw right around the metal flange ?
Good job....I may have to rework mine now !!

Here is how I plan to make sure the center section will be bullet proof. The front wing dowels will be replaced by aluminum rods that will be run through the front spar. They will be about 8-10" and a hole will be drilled through the spar and hysol will be used. The wire shows the front spar where the hole will be drilled. The center section front mount on the fuselage will also be reinforced.

Saito 450 r3
I searched the entire thread and did not find anyone flying this bird with a Saito 450 r3. It looks like at 5.5 HP the Saito 450 will have just the right amount of power to fly the plane scale and have reserve power when you need it. With all the hassles around the FG84, low power issues withe EVO 77, and excess power with the FG90, I would have thought the Saito 450 and the H9 Corsair would be a popular combo. Can anyone testify to this?

Question....
the torque rod that goes in the flap, one of the it’s a little sloppy .
there is about a 1/4” play when holding the servo arm and moving the flap up and down.
Short of cutting the hardwood out around the torque rod, is there a less invasive way to fix it?
Thanks for the help.

Looks great Steve....did you glass it or it is just covering from original art?
Also for those of you that fly this plane, is a gyro needed?
I fly currently Top Flite Giant P47 and P51 without gyro and such with no problem.
Never flown a Corsair so I am not sure.
thanks for the help.
