The included tank (I am not sure of the size) is big enough for the 77 radial

77cc radial consumes 2-3 oz per minute depending
upon your throttle management and the
tank included with the Corsair is 22 oz

Like John mentioned we should have the manual
up tomorrow

16 to 20 oz is fine. The other nice benefits of these radials is; far lower vibration, less oil mess due to running on 8% oil, and they can swing a nice big near scale size prop. They sound really cool too. I use a Xoar 3 blade warbird style 22x10. -Tom

Ok guys the Saito FG 84 will fit into the cowl but the engine has 2.5 degrees of right
thrust and that will cause the engine to displace enough
to now allow the rocker cover to make contact with the cowl

It might be possible to grind back some of the
rocker cover enough to provide clearance
or you could install the engine with no right thrust
and set up a mix in your Tx for right rudder based upon throttle setting

I believe Peter Goldsmith our team Horizon field marketing
manager will be doing just that

Have been having a blast flying mine on a Zenoah G62 at Joe Nall

Hi Bill.

Many thanks for that..............gives us someting to work with and think about... or....[]

I have looked at the pdf manual and could you or John help with a dimension that I cannot see in the manual...?

WHAT IS THE DIMENSION FROM THE FIRE/WALL or ENGINE MOUNTING TO THE PROP DRIVER..?

From the photos, looks like the EVO 7cyl uses "stand-offs"......

Thanks again.

Nick (UK).

Hi Bill.

Perfect, thank you..........I guess that may be an oversight in the manual as this dimension does help with any possible alternative power source.

Any chance that you could also let the thread know the diameter of the nose.approx where the cowl fits over??........I have a plan in mind !!!

Many thanks again......

Nick (UK).

Do you guys think it'll be worth spraying some flat on the covering so she's not so glossy? Does it bother any of y'all as is? She's such a beautiful plane I can't say it really bothers me at all. Just wondering if some are considering doing it

Yes I think the Corsair is to shinny for my taste. A product I used that I am out of works great. If you go to the eflite/horizon site and look for a 50 size P-51b electric set up that came not only shinny but different shades of OD. in the back of the manual it talks about toning the shine down and the recommend a product and I used it after some panel line etc and it came out great. Since they are both film covered it should work great.

Pre-hinged surfaces would have been a nice touch (but I am lazy)

Spence, the gloss sea blue color came to life with the F4U-1D variant which is what this is. From VF-17 aboard the USS Bunker Hill in Feb 1944. Should not be flat.

Now with that the gloss blue would deteriorate quickly in the salt air and begin to oxidize out to a white on the top surfaces. Just flattening it out would not be accurate.

Get it Spence, you will love it!

Speaking of power plants.........

The saito 57cc twin was changed slightly and the (TS) was added to the end instead of (BG)
Not sure what looks better.... The Ignition was changed from the SAITO brand , to a REXEL ignition??

ALSO.....
Horizon Hobby Guys!....
WHERE IS THE Joe NALL VIDEO OF all the CORSAIRS flying together???????????????????????

I realize there is POOR service when on location, but you have been back now for a few days!>>>>

I read that one Corsair had a mid air with a P-47 so thats probably why no video has been released yet, maybe editing?

I can't say 100% that there was not a midair, but I was there a few days and did not hear or see one. The ones I saw looked nice. I will be getting one for a future project.

All four H9 Corsairs that flew at Nall are
in perfect shape
No midairs from the Horizon camp, but I did see the remains of a large
P47 being brought back to the flight line
on a golf cart.

Sorry no videos were shot by Horizon at Nall that I am aware of

Had a great time flying the Corsair with a G62 and looking
forward to burning more gasoline at the next event this summer

Bill, how much does the engine hang out with teh G62? pic? Looking at that top flite corsair with half the engine hanging out the bottom wouldn't do.
