Hi All,

I have a Hanger 9 Spitfire 60

Did some damage to my Spits wing. It's fixable, but one of the plastic retract gear pockets is toast. I hate to buy a whole wing set when this one is fixable, but Hanger 9 does not sell just the wheel pockets. At least I don't think they do. I am going to call them, but I'm pretty sure I already know their answer.

So, Does anyone have one of these pockets that could be scavanged from a dead wing or know where I could get one?

You would consider scrapping the wing, cos a wheel well piece of plastic is toast? rip the pair of them out, get some 1/16 medium balsa sheet, and line the wheel well with vertical balsa, i have done this lots of time, it doesnt need any skill, just some common sense!!

when I upgraded my H-9 Mustang Marie with electric retracts I removed the plastic wells and made balsa gear bays.

if you soak some 1/16 balsa with a alcohol and water mix it will soften the wood so you can bend it, I used a tape roll to hold it then after the wood dry's you need to fit it into the wing,it takes some time but the end result is much nicer than the plastic parts

it takes some fitting and thought when your placing the wells into the wing to make sure the walls are vertical and not angled, but a little trial and error and you can pull it off.
