Your zero is looking great!

I crunched my World Model zero awhile back and kind missed how well it flew. 80" wing span, 19lbs with a Zenoah G45 in it was a perfect match, no CG weight needed and the motor ran flawlessly. The one thing I disliked about the WM zero was the shiny olive drab paint scheme. Can you confirm the ESM 80" wingspan and the cowl diameter? Thanks!

Wingspan is 88.7".
Cowling vertical 8.75", horizontal is 8" since it's oblong shaped.
Engine mount 5.75 horizontal, 6.75" vertical

If it were me, I would ditch the pull pull on the elevator. You might reconsider the way you've got the wire actually attached to tiller bar also. By pulling the wire through the loop you've created several pinch points on the wire at the tiller connection point. I believe the side to side movement of either the rudder or the elevator with this set up will also grind the wire at the tiller bar connections eventually.

Why not just run a Carbon fiber rod back for the elevator connection? I've done this on all of my ESM planes and it's worked out fine.

+1. I've never like the wire setups they've chosen to use but worse case, get some of this stuff if you want to use the pull pull system..

http://www.donshobbyshop.com/product.aspx?cat=3#DHS Pull-Pull HD+ System (20 to 45 lbs.)

I personally like using a carbon fiber control rod for my setups if possible.

Hello to everyone there, i have one question about control rods. I'm currently building CMPro Zero 50cc and i placed 2 servos, one for each elevator halfs, in front and want to use two carbon tube as control rod for that purpose . Carbon tube has inner diameter 3mm and 5mm outer. On both ends of this i will insert and epoxy 3mmthread steel rod for metal clevis and ball links. My question is this carbon tube(3/5mm) strong enough or i need to insert into 3mm carbon rod for strength?

Can someone post some pictures of this setup(how you sort this out)....

I intend to do something like this but i will have 2 rods for each elevator half...what do you mean?

Thanks Casey & Reimsetin!   I myself dont like this factory setup.   I was planning to copy my Aeroworks Edge setup, but definitely open for ideas.   Do you have any pictures you could share pls.  Ive been in aviation maintenance for 27 yrs now and we sure do not want any flight control linkages chaffing on anything.

Thanks
Mike

Im not an expert, but I would suspect that the steel rod will vibrate itself off the adhesive unless its threaded onto the carbon tube.

dry fit the optional factory electric retracts. Although seem like that the plastic tire/wheel that came in the box looks better sizewise than the alum looking ones that came with the optional fit retracts.

Mike,

I think I would still ditch the pull pull on the elevator, and use a solid carbon fiber rod to the connection.
