Why No A6M Zero Arfs from Top Flite or Hanger 9
Any reason why Top Flite or Hanger 9 doesn't market a A6M Zero ARF, either 60 Size or 50cc size; I was told that they don't want to to offend the Chinese or can't get them made in China, because of the History between Japan and China in WWII, etc; if that's the case could they not market it without the Red Japanese Meatball insignia, much like Top Flite doesn't Market their GS FW190 ARF with Swastikas; other manufactures have marketed Zero's such as World Models, ESM, etc; are these made sowewhere else other than China perhaps, I don't know.
In my opinion, considering I am an ARF builder only, that the ARFs that Top Flite and Hanger 9 have been putting out have been great, and I have several; but how many more versions of Spitfires, Corsairs, P47s, P40s or P51s can they put out, the FW190 by Top Flite or the ME109 by Hanger 9, have been the only Axis exceptions in ARF format.
I would love to see a Giant Scale 50cc Size Zero ARF be released by Top Flite, to compliment their already great fleet of Giant ARFs; or a 60 Size ARF by either Top Flite or Hanger 9; I would pull the trigger on any one of these to add a Zero to my Hanger.
I have made several Product suggestions over the years to Top Flite and still no Zero, got my fingers crossed that one will be released in 2014.

Why don't you try a yellow zero. It is no Arf but it is very easy to put together ( pre sheeted foam wings, pockets for servos, retract rails in place and a F/G fuse) and it is a great flyer

Seagul Models makes a 60 sized arf and Troy Models has a 50cc sized one plus esm has just released a 50cc arf of the Zero.
JL1's suggestion of the Yellow Zero is also very good.
I think Wold models still sells their giant scale Zero and may yet have a 50 sized one.
Lots of fun choices, be sure to post pics of which ever model you choose !

Appreciate the replys; my preference is ARFs where I don't have to cover them or glass and paint them, the newer ARFs are now coming with Flat colored coverings. I have had good luck withTop Flite and Hanger 9 ARFs and not so much with the other brands like seagull, etc, I looked at the Yellow Aircraft Model and if I was going to glass/paint or cover a model the Yellow would be high on my list; I'm just curious as to why Top Flite and Hanger 9 don't market a Zero.

Nitro Planes carries several size CMP Zeros. 50, 120 and 50cc size. I have the 120 size, 72" wing span. However, it took a lot of work and modifications what would not have been necessary on a Top Flite ARF. It flys great. The Zero makes a good RC Warbird. Large wing, wide gear, large tail surfaces. Only problem is the short nose and getting the cg correct.

Manfred; ESM are nice enough and all, my preference is more the Giant Warbird ARFs that Top Flite has been selling; it would be great if they included a Zero to their collection, I just don't know why they don't, I would buy one in a flash.

ESM does make 50cc zeros. TB sells them but they're out of stock at the moment though. http://www.troybuiltmodels.com/items/ESMZERO-88FAF.html

That one is the aforementioned ESM Zero. There does seem to be some confusion on the websites as to the actual wingspan though. VQ lists it as 80" while TBM has it as 88".
A couple other choices for the OP are the .46 size VQ brand A6M6 zeros:
White: http://www.vqwarbirds.com/product_in...a6b61333de6d28
Gray: http://www.vqwarbirds.com/product_in...a6b61333de6d28
The OP states he only wants H9 or TF, but disparages Seagull even though they are carried by Horizon(hangar9). Seagull planes are actually built stronger then H9 and they use the same covering film. Only recently has H9 and TF switched to printed film and while some like it while others do not because its rather difficult to match panel lines if a repair is required.
IMO....the best choice for the Zero right now is of course the ESM if someone does not want to build the plane from a kit, but that also depends on the builders flying skills and capabilities constructing the plane.

Hi Katniss,
Yup, TBM had a zero they were developing and at one point they were promoting that it could be flown like a pattern ship including removing much of the dihedral to allow it to fly patterns better.... Why I would want a Zero to fly pattern is beyond me but that was their direction at that time. Then ESM/YT brought out their Zero and so you see 80 and 88inch versions noted. I think the 88inch is correct for ESM.
The ESM would my 1st choice then there is the CYModles Zero which is also a great choice.
The CYModles Zero is 83 inches and they look very nice. http://www.cymodel.com/cn/pro_view.a...87&cid=6&scid=
You generally see the CYM stuff labeled under someone else's name. I have their Me-163 and it's a great flyer. The giant scale stuff is often seen over here as EasyTiger.... However, you can get the same planes from TexasRC.com and those guys are really good to work with in getting the CYM stuff. In the 50cc/80inch range if the CYModels Zero floats your boat, I'd order it from TexasRC. Pitch the hardware and a careful assembly would give a great flying plane.
Here's the CYModels Zero flying

Hi Katniss,
Hmmmm.... You're right, but that page shows it at both wing spans???? The label at the top shows the 90.5in but the specs show 2108mm or 83inches They show it as a 60-100cc plane. Now I'm just confused.... lol I guess I'd confirm the specs with TexasRC.
At any rate, there are plenty of Zeros ARF's to choose from and in lots of sizes.

Love, love, love the movies I don't know if you'd want me to fly planes like the movie character shoots arrows. Remember, arrows are meant to HIT people!!!! I don't think it would go over well if I smacked people with planes. Aside from that, depending on what shoes I was wearing, I might not be able to run away very fast, or at the very least, kick them off and run barefoot. Yikes!!

The ESM Zero wing is 88.7 inch. There is a build thread hear.
