Road trips 2016

I just returned from St. Charles IL. and the Windy City Warbirds and Classics event. I am sure Sam will have many inputs here soon. I had the chance to chat with Sam for the 3 days of the event, and I mentioned how much this thread of his is welcomed by the viewers on RCU. Here are 2 pics I would like to add to your road trip collection. Nothing special. Just Sam getting ready for the day, and one of him taking time out of his preparation to chat. It was a nice weekend.

June 23-25, warbirds and classics over St Charles, Ill at Fox Valley rc club.
miles: 375 (took the long route, bypassing Chicago)
A very nice 800' X60' paved runway with grass extensions and parallel grass runway.
They had a 40'X80' tent for evening storage.
Very well run flyin with John Fisher IC and a lot of volunteers helping to 'run the show'.
The best control that I've seen for starting planes: All planes started at 'up wind' side and retrieved at the 'down wind' side, thus no props spinning behind/beside you while you are flying, nor anyone getting in you 'line of sight' while flying.
I had a great time and they sent us off with a great meal, Saturday afternoon.

PS: I'll wait until they fix the web site with the picture problem before posting more pictures.

Well, since my Comp arf F4U corsair still takes pictures, I moved 'road trips 2016' to that thread.

Rich,
I tried another thread and it also failed. That was about a month ago and called it part 2 but pictures would not take. I'll try again and see what happens.
Just tried making a new thread, same results. Obviously they don't care that much when a problem exists for at least 2 months and don't fix it.
I've got probably a good 400 pictures from this season's flyins that are not getting posted.
A monitor said they have several servers and not sure which one is not working properly. I have posted pictures on some of my other threads and pictures are posted but this thread and, it appears, any new ones, fail.

5:05 PM, west chester, ohio.
A 4 engine radial (looked like a DC-8) just flew, directly over my house at only about a 1000 feet heading west.
I was working in my yard and thought my neighbor was getting pretty close to me with his riding lawn mower when I realized it was a multi engine radial plane over head. Too many trees in my yard and would not have been quick enough to get any pictures.
cool.

Hey, they finally fixed the picture problem!
====
Winter storage.
With one of my old cars sold, I can now store everything in the detached garage/shop (need to cover them up from dust). Three on the ground and 6 on the storage shelves.
This Fall, I sent in my transmitter to fix a the antenna with a small part broken off at the base. With all the flying over the years, it was also good to have them PM the whole system: Fortunately, all was good. For 50 bucks, it was worth it.
