Default Moki or Evolution

So I'm at a point where Jeff Miko is needing to know what engine I am installing in my Hellcat so he can install my engine box

I am having a hard time deciding between the Moki 180 or the Evolution 160.

7 cylinders look better than 5.

Price difference is roughly 700.00 ..... I know where I want to go I just need a little nudge.

Thank you guys, any input is valuable to me and I appreciate it.

If it's a Ziroli Hellcat. I highly doubt that a EVO 160 will fit inside of that cowl.

Hey Greg,

Thanks for chiming in

Jeff is taking a look at the Evo160 to see if it will fit. If it does not the decision just became easier

I would be really surprised if the evo 160 would fit. I did a test to see if mine would fit in the cowl of the Meister P47 which is a bit bigger than this hellcat and there wasn't any way it would fit. As I recall the 160 is in the neighborhood of 11.5" diameter.

One of the big issues is being able to put right thrust into the engine box. Which means you will need enough room to move it to the left side of the cowl enough to add atleast 2 degrees of right thrust into the motor and also to get the prop hub centered in the cowl. The Evo 160 is 11.4 inches in diameter so it will be really tough. I think John Redman tried to fit one in a Carf P-47 cowl and it didn't fit that.

A Moki 250 in a CARF jug is tough enough and it's only 10.5 inches in diameter.

I really like the look of 7 cylinders vs 5 but does not matter the Moki is a better fit in the cowl.
