So, I am back from holidays. I post you some pictures about the canopy. For the sliding canopy, I make an aperture that is 250 mm long, and 3.5mm height. I make 2 sliders with plywood at 130mm long, that has an "T" form, with 5mm and 3mm height, the tickness is 4mm.
These sliders are going into the aperture from the Inside, and I fix the canopy with some small screw. It works fine and its simple to make. The canopy is closed with 2 magnets.
You see also my solution about the complete hatch fixture, I make 2 brass tubes with an piston Inside, that hold the hatch in position, and for opening I move the both stem in forward position. In the front, I have the originals bolds, that works fine.

Mine La-7 is in progress with painting and weathering...it is a long job, but the result is Worth it.
Yes we are a little alone here...but it is good that we report about the construction, I am sure that helps other people who want modify an La-7 cy models...even later.

my holidays are finish...and the job is going slower!
The fuselage is finish with paint job, the motor + ignition are mounted. I look for the best layout of Rc components, I must have in mindes that I have a light motor forward. This obliges me to forward all hardware.
I post a picture later on the future layout solution.
You got and incredible job on your La-7 dear Jimmy, be continued.

I personally like my airplanes to fly with a CG that puts the airplane straight level while inverted on the balancer. Ive always had good luck with this set up. I know I'm a ways from balancing and flying but it's exciting to see you get to that point with your La
I hope this helps

Dagg, those both nice machines there, & I will be applying what you've shared thank you... I don't have hands on experience with running radials, but from what I've gathered, guys have built air dams so air flowed past each individual cylinder- then funneled into cooling passage..?? Still following you guys progress with enthusiasm. Thanks again for sharing, you too warbird

La-7 Cy models correct CG
Hello,
On the first picture, you can see that i have mounted both tanks (gazoil + smoker), + gaz servo + smoke pumps as close to the firewall.
Next picture you can see what solution i have to obtain the correct CG. I can take the accus + servos for ruder and rear retract in front of the CG. I hope that with this i can balance the La-7 without add some lead.
