Hi w1nd6urfa,

It's a Topp Rippin Kit from Germany. I had a good friend help me fix the correct dihedral into the wing. The kit comes with Obichi covered foam core wings.

I'm using a Saito 100Ti for power.

Google Topp Rippin and you can find their Ebay store.

There was a version of the P-39 built with a V tail, that is pretty rare.

Heinkel He 100 was mentioned several times during the early days of this thread. There still aren't many models of it around.

Chad, I've been following your build thread on the 202 for a long time now. Looking forward to seeing it done and getting some plans when available. I've been wanting to do one for some time now. You also have a G-55 on the board too? Wouldn't mind seeing that moving along too.

I guess if I want to do something fairly unique now, I'll have to start looking at something like the Focke Wulf TA-154 Moskito.

I've made a start on some drawings for the G-55 John but have not progressed very far at this point. It is probably among my top three or four favorite warbirds though and one that I definitely would like to model at some point. Just don't know when that might be! As far as the airframe goes it has a great deal going for it and should fly terrific. Plus a whole plethora of great paint jobs to boot. Maybe when the big Macchi is done I can convince the customer that he needs a big Fiat to go with it!

That's very true I had one of the ESM P39's and the front retract mounts kept braking out no mater how softly I landed it . I found the fix for that though I mounted two aluminum plates over the wood mounts and mounted the front retract to the aluminum plates and thus spreading the weight out . See Photo's of my ESM P39 I also have still one of the Top Flite gold edition P39's that is still flying but I would love to find an 80" set of plans for the p39 to do a scratch build and also a 80" Hawker sea fury set of plans would be very nice to do .

Daniel.

Kelvin Shacklock's excellent book on scratch building has a 60" Sea Fury that can be easily enlarged, it's on my (long!) to-do list too

What is the wingspan of the plane? Where did you get the kit?
