I guessit would be.
I've understood 'warbird' to mean 'military plane'. Whether it is athe hot-shot fighter, or a lowly trainer / spotter; such as teh PT-9 or a 'Cub'.
I guess it's assumed, that any 'military plane' was probably used in a war, in some way.. Even if it was just to ferry a diplomat during the time of war...

there are several an2's owned by NASA here in huntsville but i do believe they were used by the russian military all the way up to the USSR's demise so i guess for short your answer would be yes

yes, i would say they are a warbird,after all the russians were involved in a few conflicts,it was also the largest single engined biplane ever built.

the answer is YES. If it serverd in a military somewhere then it is a warbird. Even your Airforce one style of 747s are warbirds.
In fact I know a Polish chap, ex Polish airforce who used to fly those Antonovs.
