skinny? I'm bloody fat, jumped on scales earlier and I was 87kg. I should be around 78kg

yes well she looks a bit young, mind you I was out with a 38 year old last night!

Well you could start running if you wanted to but unless you have done a lot of running in your day it will take a while to get muscles to be used to it. I have been running most of my life from early teens. Muscles get a certain memory from that and just slip into the groove.

Yes well women need to put their hands in their pocket and pay their way, agree about that. I won't date any that don't work or don't have a car. Oh and have good teeth and health!

No the bloody charger is still playing up, I think it does not like MiMh packs for some reason. I have 4 Nicd packs on at the moment so will wander down to the shed in a tic and see what they are doing.

Cheers
Peter

You missed my point. I said let them buy you dinner.

PS. I only played American Football Hockey and Soccer in my youth. In Soccer I was the Leagues leading scorer for 3 yrs. Got into a fight and got suspended. That ended my streak. Now if I could remember back that far. Maybe my muscles would remember I was skinny back then. LOL.

I played Rugby Union on the wing. Swimming, some soccer, Gymnastics, was quite good at that.

Anyway should get my bum down to the shed.

Hi Pete,

I have booked in at the Sandcastles Motel where we stayed few years ago when we were both there at TCB. Only $90 a night, place was clean & comftortable. Don't know what time I will get there Saturday as I might have to work Saturday morning. I am starting to do some instructing in the full size flying.

Well now that we are talking about our youth, I played football l (American style) till I broke a collar bone, than did a lot of dance roller scatting and as I lived in San Diego Ca. .play'ed beach bum, water/snow skiing, now the knees and hips tell the tail. The mind is willing but the body tells me to go to H#$L Was doing models befor you two blokes were knee high to a grass hopper So there hehe.

Cheers Bob T

PS got one of my new engines running, and the 47 is fully repaired and ready might have to tweek the engine a bit, and the rest of my planes are ready Hope'ing for a good season

Mick,

Ron is doing the HMC tonight so all good on that front. Rang and emailed the motel so hopefully they have a oom for Sat night. Can't see them being fully booked.

Go to go to Bob Romano Moors to get 20L of methanol for the mustang. Only have about 3L mixed up and have just used the last of the methanol I had.

Bob: you sound as though you were quite the lad in your younger day and had a ball. Good on you. Hear you about the body, my knees and right hip have just started to play up a bit and I do not like it one bit!

Broke my right collar bone when I was about 9 or 10, going down a hill too fast on my pushbike and got speed wobbles, off I went! Hurt like buggery and screamed my head off!

Got a bit of work done on the 47 over the weekend. Canopy is glued back on and I have started to reapair the hanger rash dings from when I moved back in dec last year. Nothing bad.

Will keep on plodding with that till I am happy with it then finish off the mounting arangements for the cowl. It is close, just needs to be eased a little. Then retract rails need reinforcing. Very little to do really before it is ready for painting.

cheers
P

Pete
Don't remember if I posted a pic of my 47 hitting the ground after I clipped about 3 rows of corn tassels, gear was down but the gear rails held up great and if you remember I tried to copy what you did, so unless you land a lot harder than I did you should be good to go

Just my thoughts

Cheers Bob T

PS ya I did my share of crousing, and now the body is rebelling big time

hey Bob,
yes mate you did post that one a while back. Think I removed a bit too much meat so need to reinforce a little and will run some carbon soft tape and epoxy that in as well.

Got a bit done over the weekend, nothing worth a photo but was nice to be back on it.

I'm away all of this weekend flying at Tin Can Bay warbirds and not back till late afternoon on the Sunday so not work this weekend. Leaving home at 0330!!

Knee: turns out I have a chronic sprain of the medial ligament on right knee and think left is heading that way as well. It is radiating up into the glutomous maximus, bum muscle to you uneducted lot hehe feels like my hip is out is the result.

Will be going to physio on Monday so hopefully it settles down. It is very unconfortable.

cheers

I see your midwest is getting battered with tornados. Got to pray for those poor people. Saw on news this morning one town was just flattened. Showed a trailer park demolished.

We are so blessed to be not in that situation.

I've found out I don't have to work tomorrow or Saturday morning so we are going to leave for TCB about lunchtime tomorrow. I think there might be a shower or two first up Saturday but will soon clear. It might also be a bit breezy but that might keep a few on the ground which leaves more sky for us heavy metal machines.
See Ya there!!!

We arrived at the field late this afternoon with a few showers around. Lots of people in the camping grounds already.
Put our shade tent up to claim a spot in the pits and headed into town.
Glad we chose to get a motel, there has been a fair bit of rain so far tonight.
Hopefully it will clear in the morning as per the forcast.

Rain, it was the bloody wind that was th problem and it was a cold wind at that.

Mick flew the buggery out of his composite P47, really good show. We saw a Comp ARF lost due to I think engine leaning out and it spun in while the pilot was trying to get it back to land.

My P51 gave lots of grief over the 2 days. Only got 3 flights in. Nearly lost it on first flight due to sagging engine but was lucky and did a reasonable landing in the end.

Glow plug issues, was given an A3 in the end which seemed to cure that problem then the 3000mA/h NiMh cell I was using for onboard glow system died. Another chap, thanks Per! He gave me a 8000mA/h NiMh cell he had no use for and they got the engine running rrliably again.

Retracts again gave strife and on my last flight which was about 7.30 Sunday morning the retracts refused to come down so did a belly landing. No damage to the irreplaceable Bolly 17x10. that was shattered. So now one of the Mejanik or however you spell it is on the nose. I do have an 18x10 Bolly buit think it would be too much prop for the ST2500..

Got it home in one piece and had a good time catching up with people. Nice dinner at the country club Sat night. Half a cows bum on a plate with some chips and salad washed down with a couple of beers!

Found the problem with the retracts when I got it home and on the bench. Air line to one of the tail door cylinders had swelled around the nipple and was leaking. Pulled it off, cut a short bit off and put back on. Woking very well now.

Ready for next sortie which will be Bundaberg Warbirds in early June.

Back to the P47 ...

Battery in the Landover carked it too, had to give it a charge early Sunday morning to get going. Jump start on Sunday to leave! But at $700 for a new one I am trying to get a little more use out of it as $$$ is very tight.,

Actually did some work on the 47 yesterday, fixing up hanger rash and around the windscreen frame.

Not much but it is progress.

Hi Pete,

it was a good weekend, shame we did not get more flying in though. I totally forgot to get the camera out.

Good to see you are moving on your Jug, any progress is good progress!

Glad to see you had a good time Pete. Nothing better than hanging out with your friends.

I'v been thinking about a stand for the Jug since I seen one on an old plane last Summer. Got it started last week and finished it today with Howard's help. We got together for lunch and I enlisted his hands for clamps. and we put it together. If you can remember back that far. I made a PVC rack to transport my plane. I ended up breaking the sheeting on the nose of the plane. Here are some pictures incase some of you want to use the idea for your planes. It turned out real solid but light weight. The plane is very stable on the stand. Well see how it transports in the next couple of weeks. Hopefully the wind will die down my then. We've had 20 to 30mph winds every day for what seems like eternity. I'm sure that won't last for ever. Or maybe it will. BUMMER.
