Who out there has used the VQ landing gear struts? I have used the Robarts, and was wondering to what degree the two are similar. Is quality of manufacture on par with Robart, are they better? Do they weigh more/less? From pictures they look almost identical, but looking is not the same as holding. Any feed back would be most welcome.

I can tell you that the e-clips that hold the knee pins are much softer on the VQ struts. Once removed they do not spring back to shape, and will not stay on the pin as well. They are essentially a cheap Asian copy of the Robarts, and are metric in measurment.

The VQ struts seem to be made out of cheap steel instead of aircraft aluminum. Quality is not as good as Robarts. The oleos have more play in them and do not move smoothly. In the end, you get what you pay for.
