Hi guys.
Greetings from sweden.
I have just started my D.B sport and scale spitfire MK 1A. Don´t know how many of you guys aware of D.B.
Here is the link. check it out :
http://www.dbsportandscale.com/
It´s 81 " inches. Weight 7-9kg according to the the manufacturer.. we´ll see about that.
It will not be the fastest build on this site, but i hope some of you will find it some fun to look in at from time to time.
Power will be a moki 45 cc gas, or rcs for you guys. Or airmoki in germany and mckay in the UK... confusing
Cowl is glass, really long, it connect to the fuse along a panel line. Neat.
The gears if from unitract, great stuff. The build so far has only progressed to the left winghalf being framed up. Check out the crossmembers going from the wingtip to the wheel bay. Really adds some strength to it.
The wing has full inboard aileron and flaps linkages.
This is the new version of the kit with built up wing, the former had a foam wing with incorrect span.
will post more as I go along
Sorry if the spelling and gramma is a bit off..

Thanks for sharing your build. There aren't many MK I or II's out there and 81" is a nice wingspan to transport. Tell us more about your engine and keep the photo coming. Good luck!

Yeah the size is really good, easy to see in the air.
The engine is sold in the US from Rcshowcase. www.rcshowcase.com.
Don´t think u have the 45 cc version thou. Have read on RCU that some has been having problems with these engines, ignitions and so on.
But the retailer in sweden said he has sold 30 engines with only one being bad, put together wrong at the factory.
It´s now been mounted in the test stand, awaiting muffler from Bisson.
5 HP, will spin a 20x10 3 blade which should look really cool on the spit. But it´s a bit less effective thou.
you can check out the 45 cc version at :
http://www.moki.co.uk/mackay.htm
click on the 45 F version.
Will post more pictures tomorrow. Hoping to get some work done on the aileron setup tonight.
Me and my girlfriend are getting 2 kittens this weekend so I hope they dont find balsa nice to sharpen their claws at [:@]

update.
Got alot of work done, lot more than usual.
Have set up the aileron linkage. Mounted the big balsa blocks for the tips, which will require some serious sanding..
The tip has a plywood spacer in between the upper and lower tip block, should protect the wingtip from some dents.
The upper sheeting is in place except from the front upper bearer to the leading edge.
Doesn´t sound like much work when you say it like this thou.
well, some more pics. One of the internal link system. Tested it and it works really great. Totally slop free.
Its nice to se one wing half being closer and closer to finished.
But then I have one more to go

Hi, I've just purchased this kit and am hoping to start building soon. Did you get to complete your model? Do you have any other build pictures or information which might be useful to me? I am quite a novice and so any advise would be very welcome.

havnt heard from KDC for a while, he did a full build and test fly on the R/C fliers forum, i will go find if its still there, i think he had flying site problems, and lost interest, he also got a long way into the build of a big ME163 rocketr fighter, both projects had superb builds, shame he did not get more from them
i ws looking at the built up wing version of this kit at the brit nationals, its quite something, has yours got the underwing gull? the latest has this feature, also, TOTALLY hidden swinging arm aileron links, that actually go INSIDE the, i think aileron, (could go inside the T.edge) for an 80"span spit, it VERY nice, and worth consideration for you over the pond guys to pay the moneys for, now your $ is clobbering our £ you can get your own back!!!!!!!!!!!!
and guess what? i have all the conversion parts to turn it into the MK9 stashed away somewhere
