Default TF P-47 engine

I have been offered an O.S. 70 four stroke engine for a really cheap price and was wondering how the P-47 gold editon would fly with this????
The plane will be fully loaded with retracts glassed and painted probably end up at the high end on weight

Thanks
B........

A fully loaded TF P-47 won't fly with the OS 70 four stroke. You are looking at a 12 lbs plane, so at least a .91 four stroke is needed.

I'd go bigger. That big cowel will dwaf the prop and cause a lot of drag. I'd use a 1.20. By the way a Satio 1.50 can be completely hidden and it flies beautifully with an APC 16-8.

I built mine with flaps, retracts, and a full cockpit and it came to about 8.5 lbs. It's powered with a Super Tiger 75 which is perfect. As for 4-strokes I'd say that the 91 is about right. the 70 is too small.

The real one had a PW2800, dont be afraid to go big! I have a OS 120 in my 1/7 scale and a ZDZ 80 in the 1/5 that will throw a 26x10. The plane just begs for a big fan up front to get those prop tips outside the cowl. Looks cool as well.

YS 1.20 on mine, and beautiful PSP exhaust. It flew great at 1/2 throttle, with very nice vertical lines.

Birdog put as much motor as you can stuff in it. I fly mine with an ys 1.20nc fourstroke and it just right. I also fly the 190d-9 with a YS 1.20fz fourstroke and it like it also. Both planes weight around 12lbs fully decked out.[8D]

Kirk are you flying the 1/5 scale P-47 with the ZDZ in it?
