Default TF (60) P47 Gear Door Linkage Question?

Need help figuring out how long a linkage is required to pull up the gear strut door covers as the gear goes up. The kit is a TF (60) P47 Thunderbolt. My setup has the wheel cover permentantly mounted to the strut and the strut door hinged to the wing. I have a sliding collar on the stur that will connect via a linkage to the strut door cover. My question is how long should this linkage be and should I use ball joints, a simple z bend or some other form of connection? Can always use trial and error but looking for the proper solution.

It is easier tahn you might think. Make two hardwood brackets, with one side shaped to comform to the strut. Next, glue the brackets to the strut, then retract the gear and sand the brackets until the door seats flush with the wing sheeting. You then glue the door to the brackets. You may need to make an oval shaped hole at the bottom of the door to accomodate for the strut "oleo"
