THanks for the input guys ,I'm reasonably sure that everything was OK as I did pre flight the plane. The only possibility I can come up with is that maybe I hit an ice chunk with the elevator control horn on our packed snow field on take off, but that is a stretch. Thankfully the Kadet sr. went in at about a 30 deg. angle ,at idle into 2.5 ft. of soft snow ,resulting in minor damage. I too have had good luck with all brands of servos unless I was at fault by poor application or dumb thumb maneuver causing a crash.
