Dear All
Due to the vagaries of the English weather, I have asked Tibenham for an alternative date, for the Salute to the 445th Bomb Group event
in case the weather is bad on Friday June the 17th. They have given us a backup date of Friday July the 1st.
Hopefully the weather will be fine on the 17th and we won't need the backup date.
Regards Phil G.

there is a real great chance that I will come with my 4m Span B-17 (1/8th, 19kg) & 3,10m span P-61 (1/6,5th, 18,5 kg) to Tibenham for the salute to the 445th bomb Group Event on Friday June the 17th.
The problem is the Ferry, I have to book it in advance (I think, at least 14 days before, to be sure for a passage), and when the back-up date of Friday July the first is necessary, I will have a problem (paid for nothing).
From which day on up to which day is it permitted to camp on the Tibbenham site (I hope at least some days)? this for planning the Ferry from Hoek van Holland- Harwich visa versa.
Insurance; Both model are less than 20 kg (44lbs). I am a member of the national dutch association (FAI), and I am a member of the German Model Flying association (DMFV) with an insurance also for abroad.
If you manage it with the P-51, is this for the June date or for the September date?
kind regards,
Jan

Dear Jan
Nice to hear from you, I really hope that you can make it for the 'Salute to the 445th Bomb Group event'
First off the weather would have to be really bad for the event to be called off.
You can camp/caravan at Tibenham as long as you like.
If heaven forbid the the event is called off due to the weather, there is an LMA fly in
about forty miles down the road on the Saturday and Sunday at a place called Binham.
So all would not be lost so to speak.
The Mustang would attend at the June event.
It would be great to have your exquisite B17 and P61 at this former USAAF base.
Can you post some pictures of your B17 and P61 here please and can I post them on the UK
forum please.
I am sure that you have posted pictures of your models on this thread, it is so large now that
it would take me a day to go through the thread.
Regards Phil G.

Jan, the Uk forum is rcmf.co.uk
look under events. I have posted your pictures and mentioned that you are thinking of coming over.
A friend of mine who is now designing and selling warbird kits in his spare time, has posted that he built your B17
about twenty years a go and it flew very well. He said it wold be nice to meet you.
As an aside you will be given the opening solo slot at Tibenham with your B17.

your friend must have built the smaller one from my 1/10th plan, which I flew in the 80ties. As you know, I am flying now a 1/8th version of my plan.
It would be an honour to give the opening solo at Tibenham!! (when I come over, and that is for 99%).
kind regards,
Jan

RE: For those who love World War Two Fighters
Can anyone help please,
I have got the engine running in the Hurricane, now there is a problem with the spinner.
There is a bracket on the backplate which goes to an apex at the front there is a pinch nut in that
and a screw holds the spinner on. The pinch nut has failed and I had to drill the screw out.
Does anyone know where I can get a 4 1/4 inch Hurricane shaped decent spinner with fixings on the backplate for screws,
or just a backplate with that type of fixing would do.
Thank you
Regards Phil G

Dear All
Below is a link to a webcan at Tibenham airfield, if you look at that at 2pm (BST)
onwards you should see a lovely Mustang sitting on the runway.

Dear Andy
Yes you are correct the P40 belongs to Arron,
I believe it is from the Ziroli plans.
We even had a couple of scale helicopters present.
