TF P-47 w/ Mehanicals?
I am in love with the TF scale .60 sized kits. However, the retracts (which are a must) are way to much for this plane ($250 -$350). I cannot afford this. SO..... Would it be smart to put GP .60 sized mecanichals in there? Thanks.

which air retracts have you priced at that price? those prices are real high for air retracts. you can buy either spring air or robart retracts for a 60 size plane for about $125, maybe less. if you want functioning oleo struts you can spend more but that will apply to mechanicals too. i recently bought some 116 spring air retracts for $120 which included thae air tank, valve, tubing etc. the only thing i needed to add is the $15 standard servo to operate the valve, and i also use a robart quick discconnect on the air line between the wing and the fuselage. two sets of those cost maybe $8. if you want the oleo struts they would be maybe $35 each from robart, which would add to either type retract but would look great.
if you buy air retracts for a larger plane, say an 80 inch wing or above, they might cost above 200.

Your not going to be happy with the mechanical retracts. Euro Kit has retracts and struts for a very good price, I don't have the web address but someone can jump in and give it to you.
