Let me tap into this great collective knowledge one more time....
What is the vertical line near the canopy? some type of emergency lever marking?
I've seen it on several ''late'' models.
Thanks V.

Chad is correct. They are there to aid the pilot, particularly when exiting the plane as the foot holds are out of site. In at least one clearly documented case, this line is perpendicular to the thrustline when delivered from the factory. Later on the same plane (KD431), it was repainted perpendicular to the ground when parked.

Hello Corsair Guys...what's the concensus on the amount of right thrust built into the fire wall. To me it looks fairly aggressive. Are you guys building the kit with the "stock" right thrust...or reducing. Getting ready to start the fuse! Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi predman
When I maidened mine I had the throws per plan, but after some taxie test, found the elevater to be a bit much so used duel rate on it abour 65% and this turned out to be good for flying also outher than that full flaps 45deg's with about 5%down on the elevators and some power till over the threshold or about a foot off the runway.
A word of caution don't go to full flaps at full power as you will do the tightest loop you can emagin, don't ask hehe
Any way good luck with your maiden and let us know how it went

If you can, preprogram your flaps so they deploy from 0 to full deflection over 2 seconds. This way when you hit the switch on your downwind to base turn you are fully set up for the approach and no one see's a bump.
But it really won't make any difference this weekend as everyone knows the winds never calm down in Corona until after sunset!
Have a great weekend!

Flew today, excellent!!! Dle 55 pulled her along just fine, lift off a lot sooner than expected. Tracked awesome c/g at 5.5 from the leading edge. Landing was a hop hop hop then on its nose. Just a scratch under the chin. Very pleased other than my nerves getting the best of me on the landing!

Gentleman,
Of all the maiden flights I've read about in this thread they have all been good, with the exception of one a few years back, who had an engine quit on the takeoff and I believe the cg was not @ 5.5" and his crash resulted in a total loss. But all the rest have been good which I'm happy to read about. Because it won't be too long where I'll be posting also
CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL
George

Guys The only reason I mentioned a C/G of 5.25 it helps take the snap tendency out just befor landing.

you are absolutely right!..landings are much easier ...no tendency to ''balloonning or snap''

Glad it works for you, just don't ask how I found out
The only negitive is you have to pay ptention on take off's as it does make it a little tricker, you can get a nose over withto much power to quick
Cheers Bob T and that is a great pic
