Barry,

You are spot-on about the 5 year old part. I am going to replace them I just don't know with what (probabley the 3010's). I have the 3004's in my 60 size TF Corsair, Mustang and Spitfire and they have never let me down. I think you'll be just fine.

Hi Guy's

The 3010's are a good choice, the only reason I went to the H/T 645mg's was price, picked them up from a swap meet dealer new in the box at 29.99 and on 6V they are at 100 +oz of toeque, I am running 6v in my corsair and 3010's so I am sure for my style of flying they are plenty.

I have shied away from the CS servos as I had some bad luck with them in 40 size 300 about 6 or 7 years ago.

Rebuilding futaba servos with a new set of gears is realy easy after the first one. It is uselly one gear that goes wares or goes bad, but all ways put in the whole kit in.

David,

Thanks for the reply and the confirmation on using the 3004's in my 1/8 scale Corsair. I wasn't sure and I bought thirteen of them. Nine for for the 1/8 scale all around and four for the Giant Scale Corsair. The 1/8 scale is going to be a US Marine Fighter and painted black and silver with a cram belly. There will be an American Eagle on the front sides and under them there will be written "Screaming Eagles". My Giant is going to be gloss black and have the skull and cross bones on it. it will also have a cram belly. I have only seen one black Corsair and it it cool looking. Here are pictures of the two schemes I'm using. My eleven year old son that I'm building the 1/8 scale Corsair for wants a US Marine Fighter.

Thanks again,

Barry

Barry,

My son was 9 when I built the 1st of my 60 sizes for him. It was a blue and white Navy fighter. He's now 17 and a lot better flyer than I ever was. He just likes it when the ground is real, real close. The GS that I'm working on is also for him. I haven't decided on a paint scheme for that plane yet. Marine's Dream always looked good to me, then I do have a lot of Insignia Blue paint left over. Oh well, I've got time to think about that. Good luck on your current build.

Looking good George,

Keep up the good work and the posting of pics! I haven't used Flite Metal before, is it supposed to paint just like fierglass? Will it cover all that rivets? Since I've never used it I don't understand it very well. Looking mighty good though.

Nice going George, I tried the Flite-metal access hatches on my Zero. Did great with the round & square ones. Had trouble with the square with the rounded corners[:@]

can you give me some tips?
i did read the Fitemetal instructions, i used masking tape for the square ones....

Hey Guy's,

I got a bargain. I bought a Lt. Doc Miller Pilot Action Figure off ebay for $26.00. It was on there for a few days and I never bid on it until the last minute. I outbid the high bidder by $.50 and won.

Hey Guy's,

I got lucky. I saw a Lt. Doc Miller Pilot on ebay and by waiting until there was just 5 minutes left I got it for $26.00. Heres a picture. It was only removed from it's box for display puposes.

That's a good pick-up, Barry. Ironically, I was watching that same auction and had intended to bid, but got busy in the shop and forgot about the ending time. You got a good price. Doc Miller has been selling for $40 and up on recent auctions.

Gibbs,

Good buy! Recently a NIB set of Doc Miller & Sparky his radioman sold on EBay for $85. I know because I bid $50 (that was as high as I would go) and watched it soar past my bid. That Sparky must think he's Jack Bauer or something. Anyway, good or great buy!
