RE: New 81
I took another video with my new HD sony camera, I have a video on youtube now but it is with a digital camera in video mode. It is 1gb and it quoted 10 hours upload to youtube. It should be on youtube in HD by tomorrow morning. I am putting it up for the winter now. I have one more plane to record it is my Staggerwing and then all my planes will be in better quality on youtube. My user name on youtube is KLMELJ. Do a search and you will find all my videos

Been doing a few mods to my P47, first off I have moved the elevator servos to the back of the plane. There is a convenient ply mount inside the tail wheel cover, this has had the benefit of getting rid of the long binding control rods and since I am putting a rather heavy 3W 40cc motor up-front, the weight on the back end should be negated. I have also put the rudder and tail wheel on a closed loop system which I have used on my YT/KMP P47. I will post some pics of the install tomorrow when I get time.

Any pictures of your install yet? I just picked up one at a swap meet and am thinking of mounting the servos rearward also.

Here you go Joe, the ply former was opened up slightly to allow room for both of the elevator servo's. As you can see I have them mounted so I can join them with a Y-lead. The rudder and tail wheel are operated via a closed-loop set-up.

Hi Mud, click on the reply caption on the top right of the last post, this opens a new post-box. At the bottom of the box there is a "click here to upload images and files" message. Shimples

Hello Capt. G
Sorry but just now seeing that you asked my about my MVVS 35, Well I bought it from another flying buddy of mine who took it our of a Hangar 9 Sundowner that he purchased at the swap meet down in Perry Ga. this past Spring. I paid $400.00 for the engine and the electronic ignition along with a Pitts muffler which I can't use on this bird.
From what others tell me it's the same engine as the Evolution GT35, just a different head color.
Regards, Jim S.

Hey Guys
I 'm just now balancing my P-47. I had to make a stand to balance her with since my pencil idea didn't work to well.
So I thought I would add some photos to show you what I came up with.
Anyone can build this stand for little money. It's made from 1.25" PVC pipe spaced 12" apart, and a two 2x6 boards approx 30" long. Just drill two 1.25" holes through the top board using a paddle bit, then nail or screw the two boards together.
Insert the PVC pipe into the boards some black tape may be needed around the PVC pipe to make a snug fit. Then just
add two rubber feet to the PVC pipe ends
I used CD disk rather then thin plywood on the wing for protection. The CD disk seemed to contour better to the curve of the wing then the ply.
Anyway you get the idea. And it works like a champ.
P.S I had to add 8oz. of lead back in the tail wheel well, to balance her out.

OK Mate!
The all up weight with a dry tank = 9.09 KGS or 20 LBS.
I have on board 3 batteries, one 6v for flight controls, one 4.8v for the retracts, and one 4.8v for the electronic ignition for the MVVS GT35 engine. Plus the 8 oz. of lead weight that I had to add to the tail. This may be why my plane is a little heavy.
The Hangar manual calls for the P-47 to weigh between 15.5 - 17 LBS so I'm a little over by 3 LBS.
What are other planes weighing in at?
Regards, Jim S.
