Who cares about IMAA specs? 99% of us fly for fun, not competition.

as andrew has so cabably said, there is a reason we go to the size we do, there are a LOT more guys and gals out there got a 120 fourstroke, they far far outnumber the gas engines, you have to think where is the market? and constant sell-outs tell us we have got the right one

as for the 50cc versions, if we can get them done next year, we will, but dont hold your breath!! we are a TAD busy right now

oh yes i have just got the picture of the finished factory protoype we ae to recieve its just STUNNING!! it is a tribute to IAN our warbird designer, on here as igdigbo

I would release two versions of each warbird: a smaller version with 64-74" wingspan for 1.20 - 1.40 four stroke and a larger 80"+ wingspan for 35-50cc gas engine. The other manufacturers are doing this. For example, CMP has a .40 size, .90 size, and 80" span Zero. WM has a .46 size, .60 size, and giant scale Mustang.

As andrew has said, the 50cc brigade have not been forgotten, and this will show later next year, but i bet we will sell three 120 size birds, for the sale of one of these

NOW THEN!!! what do you want in the 35--50cc bracket?
O.K, without getting detailed, if colour scheme isn't mentioned then in primer ready to paint is the default;

[ul]
[1] P-51B/C with birdcage canopy, field modifed ventral fin optional, not in silver or aluminum colour. The basic EARLY O.D. with grey underside and no markings so we can put on a custom finish would be nice.
[2] FW-190 A-4 or A-8 in a JG 54 Eastern Front spring thaw winter cammo scheme.
[3] Zero, in one of the "splotched" cammo schemes.
[4] Spitfire MkIX
[5] Hurricane
[6] P-47 Razorback
[7] Hellcat
[8] P-47 Bubble
[/ul]

Around the 84-85" wingspan would be good since there are already alot of available after-market accessories available in that range. Of course, I doubt I could afford more than one based on the pricing of the smaller birds.[sm=cry_smile.gif]

you know, thats a great line up, must say a B mustang would be a great idea, as for finish, its in the mold, but, we are already considering unpainted versions at special order, BUT! because the individual kit has to be babysat, right down to the packing stage, i would imagine they would be the same price as the painted ones, for this reason, maybe a tad dearer,
i LIKE your choice of airplane, and apologise for the price, BUT, these will be the rolls royce of the ARTF world, when they hit the market, a lot of guys are going to be AMAZED

i will take on board your aicraft choice, and relay them to the top brass, they are a sensible spread of subjects

How about a P-39? Q model is my favorite. Do you think the Corsair will be offered again? By the way you have my vote on the 1.20 size decision.

I would love to see a 1/7 or 1/6 scale F6F Hellcat or F8F Bearcat.

How about a Corsair in British camo? Or a La-7? Just a thought for something different.

The pictures are starting to come through slowly of the new JU87, this is the first prototype, ours should reach our shores in about 4 weeks, this prototype will be evaluated by our very own infamous British War Bird Designer Ian Redshaw (idigbo), who will pick up this thread when the plane arrives and keep you informed of its progress. In the meantime you will have to put up with me tempting you with a few photos.

I can't believe I forgot that one. Good catch. But it MUST be done in the Air-acutie scheme, it just has to be.

Thank you!

You don't need to apologize for the costs. I have seen your spitfire and it looked very nice! I would expect them to be a bit pricier than something like an H-9 in the same size.

For the FW-190, I was thinking of something like "White 10" in the picture. There are alot of similar ones that would work also, I just happen to have this example on hand, at the moment.

Hi Everybody:

The reason we keep our planes under 80 inches is that that in almost evcery case we would be out of the 1.20-1.40 engine range. For now we are not focused on the IMAA specs for the WWII birds. Soon we will have a new range of models which will be 35-50CC. These new all composite models will be suited perfectly for large scale events. The details of these models will not be released until mid summer 2007 so please hang tight.

Cheers,
Andrew

Thank you, thank you, we will be out here waiting, ready when you are...:-)

Gerry

This would be something SPECIAL...!!!!!

There are not really many options on this model in ARF ...

You have my vote on a F8F... in a 1/6 Scale

WELL in my usual annoying, tempting manner, i can say that a few of your choices ARE on the drawing board, in 120 size, and are already in planning, but which ones? which countrys? arnt i a git?

you will be pleasantly surprised at our choice

1/6 scale would put the wingspan at 71.67", which is great for me. An 80" span version would be great also.

A Bearcat would just be neat, but the gear would HAVE to articulate! I agree that 1/6, or there about, is a good scale for these sport models. I have a Top-Flite Bearcat NIB sitting in the closet, and wish it was just a bit bigger...If YT came out with one I would definitely pick one up.

OK, less of the teasing about the new Stuka. Here are a couple of FULL pics of the factory prototype.

Any comments gentlemen?

For those who want it to be over 80", you could make some tip extentions like they did on the full size, that'd sneak it to 82"

Ian.

Ian, are there any panel lines and details in the wings ?

detail is there, on the fuz, and the wings, its molded in,
we have had a comment that the exhausts are the wrong shape, and to high up, what do you guys think? (didnt mention it was a triumph of composite molding though,)
