I am getting ready for my winter project and I had a question. I hope to build a Balsa USA Eindecker .90 size. What engine have most put on it. I know it calls for 40-60 2 stroke or 60-90 4 stroke.

Well did you want to go 2 or 4 cycle?
I've had REALLY good luck with the SuperTigre 2 cycle engines. I now have the G-51 in three .40 sized planes and have had NO issues with them at all. Easy break-in, easy to adjust, LOTS of power. I have one in my H9 F-22 and it screams with it, as well as a small FW 190D9

Put a 1.00 Saito in it, and use a large diameter, low pitch prop (16-4 Zinger comes to mind). It isn't a fast plane, no need to put a high winding engine in it. The 1.00 will spin a large diameter prop fast enough to let you putt-putt around and sound as good as you look. A .91 will work also, I used this size prop on a DR-I with a .91, but a 1.00 will give you a little more oomph.

For a two stroke I'd use the 60 and build a custom muffler for it or it will sound terrible.

I would choose a heavy motor as the Eindecker looks to be short nose coupled. Look at the OS 91 four stroke. I think it can turn a big prop also.

That plane is hollarin for a putt-putt in a 4-stroke engine. I would agree with the saito 1.00. Throttle back and it would look and sound great in the air. That engine could also be used later on if need be.

Thanks guys, I am hoping to put a 4 stroker on it. I was wondering if anyone has put a gasser on it. I saw a few threads about that while doing some research but they where old threads.

Take it from me, get the OS 91 four-stroke & you won't be disappointed. Mine's been running great on the Eindecker for 8 seasons. It is a trouble-free motor & sounds really neat on this warbird.
