This is my new sport machine, well you need something to fly when the conditions aren´t perfect
.
I couldn´t resist to make a few mods on it;
The canopy was so wrong!! as delivered, so I made a new one.
The colour scheme wasn´t correct for the USAAF, so I painted it to resemble a SEAC T-Bolt.
A warbird doesn´t feel right without a noseart, the decals that went with the kit was awful so I painted a Vargas pinup on the nose.
I used a Moki 135 petrol engine, so It might be correctly powered I hope.
The retracts are standard Spring-Air units.
Recommended weight is 4000-4500 grammes, my P-47:s total weight stopped at 5300 grammes, how anyone could get it as light as it says on the box, I don´t know.
I placed the C of G at 115mm and not at the recommended 120-130 mm, I don´t fancy test flying a tail heavy machine.
I will test fly it tomorrow, so I hope to be able to give some info on how it behaves in the air.
Here is a few pics that is not so good, but I will take some more tomorrow.

I flew it today and what a total beuty it is! The power from the Moki was very near perfect, enabling quite large loops.
When I tried the flaps on a third throttle it pitched down a little, not at all difficult to compensate, but will be mixed in the radio.
The speed envelope is rather large, when on full throttle it really moves to when you close the throttle it is solid at a very low speed.
The overall handling is not far from perfect and is very confidence-building, to say the least. The ground handling is very forgiving with no real tendencies to nose over, it tracks rather straight down the strip with a little right rudder.
I only needed to trim the elevator a few clicks down and that´s all!
The only drawback was that on landing one of the landing gears tore loose due to an almost non-existant amount of glue on the plywood plate in the wing.
I will reinforce it on both sides to make it a bit more like my other airplanes are constructed.
Thumbs up to CMP for a very nice ARF, if they only would have made the hard points for the landing gear a bit better I would have called it superb.
A few pics I took before the maiden, the flying shots were crap due to a assistant that didn´t find the zoom button
