Default P-47 landing gear covers

I'm looking for a good way to attach the landing gear covers to the Robart retracts for my 60 size Top Flite P-47 so I can easily snap them off when I want to. Any suggestions???

Default Me too!!!

Hi Sam

I'll be watching this thread closely as I am needing the same help for my TF Jug. Only difference is that I have Spring Air retracts. Same principles should apply though, I hope

Don't you love this web site?!!

Cheers,

John

Default Gear covers

There are plastic parts which attach to your cover and then snap onto your LG stutt. I believe Century Jet sells them as does some others whos names escape me at the moment.. Something to consider.. anything that snaps into place can also rotate which may or may not be a good thing if your flying off of grass. Using something like Zap-a-dap is a good way to attach the cover because if you use a small amount you wont rip the cover if you roll into tall grass... usually youll just pull the cover off at worst.... Just some thoughts.. BobH.

Robart makes strut door brackets, part #650 DB. They are very well made and look real nice. Hope this helps.

Default P-47 gear doors

Here is what I did, nothing fancy. Fiberglass doors, with a bracket soldered to the leg, held on with 2, 4-40 screws.

I have just 1 question .do the retracks have built in shocks. if so you might want to take and make a 2 piece door. super nice job on the JUG
