It's £179.99 in the mag I'm looking at now. So I guess about $220, but you'll get it cheaper in the US as Top Flite an GP seem to be one and the same.

The Direct Connection Sea Fury is a great flying airplane. Three of us in my club have them. All weighed about 7 1/2# with film covering & retracts. One has flaps (unnecessary); mine has sequencing inner gear doors. Two are powered with Super Tigre .61's and the other has a .75. Mine is very aerobatic, it will slow roll as well as my pattern planes, and slows for smooth landings. Granted it is not very scale in outline, but is recognizable as a Sea Fury. It makes up for this by flying very well. The only building problem was the lack of a hole in the last fuselage former for the elevator pushrod. We all learned that too late. My plastic cowl fell apart over time, but it is exactly 5" in diameter and I was able to buy an after market fiberglass cowl that fit without modification. I like mine so well I bought another kit for when the "inevitable" happens to the one I fly regularly.

holy cow, look at the weight diff, you got 7.5lbs With retracts, the top flight is 10-12lbs with the same wingspan. these have to be two totally different flying airplanes

Yes, I would guess they'd be different. However, a 12 lb warbird is still not a heavy plane.
I think that the DC Fury looks more like a pattern plane with Fury "dressing" ( ditto on the FW-190D comment). It probably flies like a pattern plane - as r8893 indicates.
Having seen the real thing thunder around Reno, I couldn't go for a sort-a Fury.

Wow! Thats looks like a sorta Fury to me...
i've built a couple of Direct connection kits and they go together well, are lightweight and strong. The DC kit is a sport scale kit and is a great all around bird while the TopFlite is definitely a builders kit and like you mentioned much heavier. It has a better scale outline but is also a handful. I've built 4 TopFlites and all have taken skill to fly correctly. The Corsair and AT-6 are not forgiving on landings. You need to fly them in!

must admit I thought the same. It’s a Pica D9 in Sea Fury Clothing. Here is a picture of my Top Flight Sea Fury. It weighs 13 pounds and flies well now I’ve got acquainted with its flying characteristics.
