I will second that.
Also include what torque speed and type servos you used.
We want to do it right like the master too.

Will let you know HaveIssues.
I did read back in the thread somewhere that someone had run this plane with the 30.
Hopefully they see this and post some pictures
If the cowl is roughly 7.5" (190mm) midway, the DL-30 itself should fit as it is 110mm from crankshaft centre to top of the head fins. Might have the spark plug boot exposed. This is a minor thing for me. If I like how the bird flies I am thinking of buying another to bash into something even more scale.

I agree with the guys about you doing a thread on the weathering etc on the Corsair masteromodels.
No pressure of course.

HI Everyone, can you tell me what paint product is used on the first run of KMP corsairs ,the ones with the backwards oil cooler. I saw some said it was ppg paint, and then I read it was Klass Kote, and it had some paint numbers. So I'm asking what paint is used on these planes, I have one and plan on changing it so I need to do some painting.
and I'll ask again anyone tried the lado's with this plane,I took a look at one my buddy had and compared it to the 630 nose retract I have ,and the outer case(lado) is just as thick as the robart sides, and the moving block is a little narrower on the lado , I'm wondering if the electronics can handle a 7/16 strut and wheel,on lado's web site it shows the actuators to fit the 630 retracts and run those retracts ,sooooo do you think there would be a problem.

Thanks
Joe

Well ,I was looking at the corsair parts and saw how thin the canopy is so I decided to make a plaster mold and I'm going to try and make a good 0.060 PETG canopy. and then I'm going to try and sand the plug down and make a birdcage canopy. Well see how that all works out. Plus thats another reason I want to know the paint type on this bird ,to match it up. Might be just a waste of time and energy but it might turn out.

What did you use to make the plug joey?

Nice work. I thought the Corsair canopy felt very thin and flimsy as well.

HI VeeAte
I use plaster of paris and made sure to support the sides and kept it level when pouring it in .I'll drill some tiny holes around the frame and then drill a couple bigeer ones from the bottom to meat up with the tiny holes ,and the side of the canopy I'll just drill then down on a angle out the bottom. I'll pull a .040 petg cover over the plug .Sand it with 400 grit sand paper then redrill the tiny holes and pull a canopy of .060 petg and hope it comes out nice. just waiting for the plaster to dry, will take a few days.

Sounds perfect for me.
I am a Hardwall Plasterer by trade. We do render and set of brick houses.

I am wondering if the plaster we use which is similar to plaster of paris will work.
We mix the plaster with hydrated lime slurry and trowel it onto rendered walls.

The plaster of paris might be finer.....

The corsair flew today and flew well. CG is at about 24% of cord or around 3.5 inches. Slightly forward of the 103 recommended in the newer manual. Takeoff was more scale and little trim was needed to bring it to level flight. Gear down, flaps down for landing caused little to no pitch change. Photos to follow.

The 200 did well. Plenty of power and it is set pretty rich right now as I am still breaking it in. It should be even stronger as it gets some hours on it.

Lynn,

Very nice job! Thank you for the photos. The dummy engine looks very scale. Can you please tell me who makes it?
