Jim,
Thanks, but I want to see the cowl, mounted on the plane that shows the amount of material that has to be removed to clear the muffler.

I would like to have tips on installing the canopy. Can someone that had couple of succesfull flight with canopy on tell me if they used the screws included in kit. Did you threaded directly in fiberglass with no wood backing ? Also did you used glue on the perimeter ?
thanks again

I used the screws provided after drilling the holeI put a drop of glue then installed the canopy. If you don't use a wood backing just check the screws every now and then to insure they have not loosened up.
I will be flying at the warbirds over the glades this weekend. Looking forward to this event. talk to you soon. If you have any questions let me know.
Regards James

Thanks James, I will try what you did. I am set-uping my plane for max speed so I want the canopy to hold well but i still want to be able to remove it for fuselage acces.

Hi everybody. I'd like to buy a TBM Zero kit , but for having it here in Italy , i should spend 600-700$ for shipping. Does anyone know if there is onother equivalent kit here in Europe?
Reading this forum , i understood tha TBM Zero has a longer nose. How much long is the nose over the real scale size?
Thanks
Nicola

James,
The manual indicates balancing the Zero at 4.5 iniches from the leading edge at the wing tips. Start at the wing spar.
Where did you balance yours? e.g. how far aft from the leading edge (4.5" ???)
Did you create dual rates? if so what was used for low rates
Thank you
clm

Jim,
I have a Zenoah G62 with a spring starter and the cup engine mount. I am thinking about purchasing the Zero for this engine. I think with the cup engine mount the engine length might be too long. Can you give me the length from the firewall to the engine drive washer.
Thanks in advance

RE: TBM 93
You don't need the cup mount. You need the steel plate with the 1/4" stand off's. The stand off's come with the kit. You will cut a hole in the fire wall for the spring to go through. If you have any more questions let me know.

Thanks for the quick response James. That's good news! Now I just have to order the steel plate for the Zero. Is still a toss up for me as to which Zero to order, the white or the green one. I'll make a decision before the weekend and give TBM a call.

RE: TBM 93
Don't forget the exaust. TBM sells the pits style for the zenoa G62. You can put smoke on the plane with this also. Hee is link for the exaust.

And I also recomend the Fiber glass spinner. I had some problemes with the aluminum MPI spinner. Make sure you get the fiberglass one.

I have my G-62 mounted on the firewall of my green Zero and now it time to hook up the throttle and choke servo. What is the easiest way to do this that will make for a slop free linkage?
Thanks,
John B.

RE: TBM 93
I just flew the maiden of my green Zero at Warbirds over Delaware. I had to add 2.5 lbs. of lead to balance right in front of the wing spar. Flight went beautiful, it really is a floater. I have a G-62 with spring starter and Slimline Pitts muffler in it.

RE: TBM 93
but the price of the 325 is no good. its a 50cc you can get a 70 cc sedel for 5 hunred bucks cheeper than the OS 5 cylinder. and you get 2 more cylinders to boot the diameter is 9 1/8 inches
