RE: TBM 93
BTW, has anyone seen ChawkJim?
I sent him a PM over a month ago and he hasn't replied. I see he hasn't posted in all that time either.
I hope everything's ok.

ORIGINAL: Banker
Thanks, I think the manual says 3/4'' each way. I am getting binding on one side for some reason and have toasted two of the hi tech servos.

I have had a DA-85 in mine for about 4 months. It is fantastic and flies like a beast. You can fly wide open for an ear candy thrill or half throttle for a scale appearance.
The DA-85 produces an amount of vibration that the plane must be prepaired for in advance. I pinned the firewall and cornered the box as well.I also trashed the stock hinges, connecting rods, and control horns. I used robart pin hinges and went to 4-40 all the way around. I used plenty of hysol around the gear block area to ensure many landings without failure.
I weathered the girl, painted a fighter schemes, and most recently puta 3 bladed scalish prop on the plane. The zero with a D-85 is an edge 540 in disguise. The Zero has stolen the show at several fly-ins. You have to see it to believe it. It would be hard to find another warbird out perform the plane. You can see the maiden flight on TBM's website (TBM Zero section) it is the first vid file or under the "reviews" tab.
I have about 80 flights on the bird and getsbetter every time she goes up.

Scalewarbirdflier; Any chance getting a Photo of your Cut outs for the DA-85, Exhaust, etc;
Also, in the Photo of yours beside the Full Scale Zero, it looks like you had Gear Doors on the Struts, but not in the other other photos; any chance of a Photo showing a better shot of the Gear Doors on the Struts, if you are using the doors.
Thanks, the Zero looks great.

I only use the gear doors for static display, not in flight. I had them on for one flight, but they flapped because of the speed. I think if the attachment points where modified the flapping would not be an issue. I used a larger diameter piano wire and changed out the axels. I think if I make them a little longer and run them through the gear door covers with a collar it would fix the issue.
The first pic you will see is the 3 bladed prop. The second pic is for the cut out for the high and low screws on the carb. The third pic is the right side underneath and the 4th is the left side underneath. The cut out job could have been a little more cleaner, but you can't see the cutouts when it is sitting on the ground. I cut the exhaust for a flush fit on the bottom of the cowl. I used the Jtec pitts.
