RE: BT Maltese Spitfire MKIX
The trouble is the ARFs you been building but don't let it get you down, when finished you will know again why you went through the trouble of building from sticks.
I go through it all the time with all my warbird builds, get tired of just looking at all the work that needs to be done. However when it is finished, really appreciate it a lot more than any ARF.

I'll be doing a BT Spitfire Mk IX myself next after finishing my Fliteskin 109F. I'm procurring all the needed matierials at the moment. I'll be using Sierra gear(mains and tail), Glennis Wheels, Hacker A80, CC ICE HV160, Thunder Power Cells, Benedini sound... I'm playing with the idea of a Solo Prop, but I'm concerned about the p-factor created by a 4 blade prop and the Hacker motor's.
I hope to start mine this spring...I'm glad to have another to follow.

Get-R-Done man! The weather up here is so depressing all I want to do is sleep! I'll send you some pics of the little float plane I have been building.

Subscribed, This is my next project as well. Collecting components: glass fuse. wing kit, sierra retracts, 3w55i, and glennis wheels. I'll be doing an early mark II or V.

Yea, Homer Simpson's career as a pilot is over after he crashed this one. You have to give the guy credit though, when he crashes he goes all out. Low 8 point roll with wrong stick input, total loss......

Nice build Terry, can I ask where you got the hatch hinges you are using for the door. I am having trouble getting my Ziroli Spit hatch to work properly. Those hinges look like they might solve my problem. Thanks, Kevin.

i dusted off my BT spit kit last night. Got all my stuff for it Retracts, Motor, pilot and subject. I got the kit from Vic R/C so i would think this would go a bit faster then if i had to build up my fuse we will see. Below is a photo of the subject. This bird is at the Malta Aviation museum

Close by the Museum is the Malta's Modelers Flying Field, using the same airfield the RAF Spitfires used. A bit of imagination and you could almost hear the old Spitfires take off on their missions.
I've uploaded a couple of pictures, more of close-up of the RAF Spitfire , and part of what it used to be RAF TA'KALI airfield.
