Default Expert On-Board glow

Guys I bought one of these to put in my 60 sized mustang. It says that you can use 1.5, 4.8. or 6.0 volts power source. Does anybody know if this device will lower the voltage to the plug if you use the 4.8 or 6.0 volt battery? I just don't want to keep having to replace the plug if i use the higher voltage.

Hi,
I have four of these onboard units and they all work good. You can use up to five cells (6V) with no problems as the glow plug still only gets 1.5V.
For a single cylinder glow motor I have used one large (3000ma) battery from Radio Shack and for my twin cylinder glow engines I use 1200ma five cell (6v) with no problems.
So you can use 1-4-5 cells and you are good to go.
Jim
PS I would keep the unit a little way's from you reciever as I have one JR PCM reciever that it makes the sevo's jitter with the glow driver right tight next to it. Other then that one reciever, no problems.
