Default ***MONSTER PLANES 2009; who's going***

SOUND OFF: who’s going to MONSTER PLANES and what are you bringing?

WWI, WWII, Civilian, Commercial ……… name your category???

Let us know what you’re bringing, who you are, and where you’re from.

I talked to Frank last week and he told me a bunch of exciting things about this year’s Monster Planes. How about 21 Monster Awards! A Steak Dinner! A different runway with no sun in your eyes. Saturday Night Open bar (no dinner ticket required) for all registered pilots compliments of FTE! More sponsors too!

I suspect there will be more guys this year as well. I saw Carl B. (Mr. Monster Scale) a couple weeks ago in Wisconsin and he said he’s bringing a couple Monster aircraft from his stable. Whatever he brings will be big for sure.
Better get your hotel rooms soon. The reduced rates (see website) are over as of the Sept. 14th or so. All the info can be found at www.monsterplanes.com

Don’t forget to SOUND OFF and tell us what, who, and where!

See you there,

Scott

I thought the planes had to weigh atleast 45# to be eligable? Surely a Sopwith does'nt weigh over 45lbs. ***?

John,

The low limit is 35 lbs. with a little latitude given for large, lighter planes.

Well, for sure the Byron T-28 that I had at Top Gun this year. 44lbs with a 3W-106 twin. I was thinking about the Meister P47 @44lbs with the Moki radial but now I am building a new wing because the repaired one I'm using is too ragged out. While I'm building the new wing I decided to convert it to a Razorback and apply a new paint scheme. All that being said I'm not sure I'll finish it in time to get it there. I guess it will be just the Trojan for me[&o]. 2010 will be a lot better. I will have four planes for Monsters next year!

Sure hope more people are going besides me, you, and Greg!!!

See ya there,
Scott

Hi Scott,
We did meet at the Fond du Lac, WI field in August. Yes, I'm still planning on attending the Monster Plane event with a 19' B-36b and a 15' Lockheed Constellation. Well, those are the plans. Hope to see you there.
Regards,
Carl Bachhuber

Carl,
Was great to meet you again at the Fond du Lac event. You guys did a first class job there. Great people and even better event. Look forward to seeing you in about a month or so. Let me know if I can help you upon your arrival. Wish you could talk Paul into joining us. He seemed a bit reluctant but left the door open for a visit this year and maybe attend next year.

Sammy,
Thanks for the link. Hope you are well and still going strong on all those fly-ins. talk to you soon.

Scott
