Best for scale and flying Corsair
I would like a vote on what you think is both the best for scale and flying ease judged for both in this poll. Don't seperate scale and flying. This vote should be for both combined. Then if you post you can state what you think is best scale and then best flyer. Thank you for participating in my Poll!

RE: Best for scale and flying Corsair
Ziroli though it loses points in the scale department......off the chart in the flying department!!
Byron/ironbay corsair is a close second (though not on your list it and the brian taylor corsair should be aded)

RE: Best for scale and flying Corsair
I heard that it is very hard to ever get your model once you pay for it with Iron Bay Models. Has anyone else heard this? I thought about getting one next. But I don't want to order one because of this. Now I'm building a blown up to 33% Ziroli 124" wingspan Corsair. The stab is 53". This is going to be a big bird. Now I just need to choose a engine. I want a 250 Moki but they are very expensive. Anybody know of one out there used and reasonable in good condition?

RE: Best for scale and flying Corsair
Yeah Iron Bay is having some troubles with the Byron line. But a vote for Iron bay would be a vote for the Byron corsair anyway. Great flying airplane. Did some formation flying today with 2 Byron corsairs and two Top Flight Mustangs. The mustangs may have had us in speed but you just can't beat a couple bent wing birds pulling out together after a low strafing run!

I think they are hiding because people have paid for models they haven't gotten. If you want a Byron you pretty much have to rely on ads and ebay. So how about it anybody else going to vote or are you done. I know more than 375 people can go to the thread and not just look at it. C'mon lets not just window shop lets get out and vote OK!

RE: Best for scale and flying Corsair
You know I hope you dont mind me chimeing in , but as a kid in the hobby at the time , I remember dreaming of owning the Byron planes , especially the P40 .
Now to read how great the corsair was is amazing . Considering the technology of the time , Byron really seemed to strive to make the plane scale from the size , the props , tires ect , they look and flew real !!!
Hats off to Mr Byron and some great planes that have lived long after the support for the brand was gone

RE: Best for scale and flying Corsair
I'm with you LDM. I used to go to the Byron airshows in Iowa with my dad. I'd dream of flying any warbird let alone a Byron. So this past year I've been able to snag a deal on a Byron Corsair and have been flying it recently. It's like getting your dream car from high school! :P

It looks like Nick is running away with this thing. Even though he lacks in scale he by far makes up in the way his planes fly. Lets keep voting to see if anyone comes close or beats him out.

RE: Best for scale and flying Corsair
Has anyone that has voted actually SEEN the Comp ARF Corsair fly??? I have, and I don't think is is even close. Look at the video from Warbirds over Delaware. Nothing can match it for price though...

Nice pictures Reb!
Who's airplane and where were the pictures taken?
A Comp ARF Corsair w/folding wings (Sierra), Sierra gear, and a RCS engine . . . That's about 13-14k before you even open the boxes!
I've just picked up my 3rd Byron's Corsair and its been the best bang for the buck!
