Where to buy? Long (12") T-handle hex drivers
I'm looking for extra long T-handle hex drivers to mount a deep cowl on my plane. The longest I have seen in my searching is 9" shaft. Specifically, I need a 4 mm ball head T-handle driver closer to 11-12 inches.
Anybody have any suggestions?
Thanks,
Noah

RE: Where to buy? Long (12
You can pick up small couplers, with two set screws, then you can 'splice' a length of 4mm hex cut from another tool, onto a T-handled 4mm hex, and secure with the coupler to get your extension. You can use a readily available 9" from Ace, then throw on three inches of a simple L-shaped allen wrench to finish it off. This would work fine, and be inexpensive, as long as you didn't have to feed the long hex through a small hole. If you are going through the front of the cowl, the size of the coupler shouldn't affect the access.

Coincidentally mentioned in the Averger thread - you got a Harbor Freight Tools in your area? Check this link - http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=37861.
I cut 4" off the end and braze a 12" - 15" extension in. 1/8" music wire works great. When brazing, wrap a sopping-wet rag around the base of the plastic handle, so any heat doesn't transfer up.
