Thanks, it also slows down really well without stalling with full flaps. I did some high slow flights to test the slow flight with stall and it is better than I thought. BUT yes I am keeping the speed up on landings

Here is the P-40. Fixed landing gear still. Will add a pilot and the retracts over the winter. This is my third landing...do not link the landing. My 2nd landing was a smooth..

Guys I searched and saw a few post about the electric landing gear not being good but that was years ago. Does anyone have any recent experience with the Robart Electric retracts, Robart Electric Retracts 150E and Robart Electic Tail Wheel 160LWCE?

I had them in my P40. Really not good. One day they just started acting up. It was the retracts, not the box. Long story short, after 4 months and 3 exchanges they were replaced with the air Robart's and never a problem.

That is my problem I always see a hit or miss . This is keeping me from jumping on the electrics. I am one to try something with a few bads but I get just as many bads as I do goods when I am searching .

Hi

Any time I see a product in Tower or Horizon where they say to deal directly with the manufacturer for service or warranty issues, that's a red flag for me. Add to that Robart's not-so-world-class service and turn-around time, and the number of people with issues is too many and too much for me to plunk down any money on their electrics. Especially since air have always worked fine for me.

Robart recommend to me to run a 12v battery with a 9v regulator. This solved any of the intermittent issues.

I wonder why they just did not recommend a 9.6 battery without the regulator.

They will sell you a regulator set to 9v. I was warned not to 9.6, the additional voltage over time is bad for the jack screw.

If you have any question of my veracity, call Robart and ask them.

There nothing worse than trying to help a fellow modeler, and then have other tell you "you don't know what your talking about".

Oh yes, I was going to because the other day I saw the battery range was 4.8 to 9 so you saying 12 volts regulated down to 9 had me thinking and I was sure if you knew you probably would have explained Robarts answer. So mine was just a thinking(typing ) out loud, wondering . Just seems crazy to buy a 12v battery(11.1 lipo) to regulate it down to 9v when you can just buy a 9.6v a regulate it down to 9 and get the same result with less weight and cheaper, I still fly with NIMH . If they knew that it needs 9v, then I would have put a built in regulator instead of selling separate. Good thing I have a regulator at the house . Will update you all after I contact them. Rather get electric but will take air for reliability. Thanks for the replies Chris

Looks great! How much weight did the glass and paint add? I have the same plane unfinished and it would be nice to glass it too.
