Struts cover are mounted with a H rod and a clevis welded on the leg of the gear and the other clevis screwed on the strut :

I have readed lot of things about overheating on the FG84R3, but never with a good explanation…

Your explanation is very clear, now I understand why it is necessary to reduce inlet air to have the right flow to cool the engine.

I just going to have to find an aesthetic solution to solve the problem…But Your solution seems to be fine!

Doors are actuated by one rod.

I’m going to be shooting from the hip here as it’s been years since I flew my Ziroli Corsair. This one was a bit larger at 94+ inches. It weighed 35-39 pounds depending on what was on board. I had a G62 motor with a split but scale exhaust. I think it did provide a bit of tuning as I always seemed to have 100-200 rpm on most of the other guys. Being a car racer I tended to run my models on the edge rather than backed off a little. My motor ran 69000- 7,000 rpm I do remember it having 40 pounds of thrust
it would loop from level flight and flew very fast for a big so called draggy plane. I spent a bit of time fitting the cowl and rounding the front of the fuselage. Air flow was pretty good and I never had over heating issues. Flying with other comparable war bird of the day it was every bit as fast as the lighter and cleaner P51. I flew scale combat flight maneuvers with a couple Ziroli zeros and the popular FW190..my FILflew the Corsair during the pacific war so I had a good instructor on combat flight. We did this for quite some time and it was always fun especially when the big corsair out performed the zero. We ended it went I got over aggressive and we had a near mid air. Whew it was close. My shadow flew directly over him and for an eye blink blacked him out. It was too close so we backed off. My flight log was over two inches thick. I used it just like the full scale. Reviewing it saved the day a number of times.

further down you may note that I was a long time participant in the “Corsair Blues thread. Old timers will remember it.. I can’t fly anymore but a son is picking up where I left off. He remembers going on our weekly flying trips.

Just checking in with the thread...It's been a couple years...Still waiting to get mine completed. It's 99.9% finished, he's working on the strut guards now. Going to have to look for a better canopy...The one from Legend Models is just too flimsy. It cracked in multiple spots. Have the sliding canopy which is nice...Just needs a better quality canopy.

Fred, did you ever fly your magnificent model??
