Pica 1/5 Spitfire plans anyone have them?

Hi Guys,

Does anyone have a set of plans of the Pica 1/5[SUP]th[/SUP] scale Spitfire they could photograph a section of and email to me in high resolution? I would like to see inside the main wing from the leading edge at the centre through to behind the main spar and out to the wheel recesses.

My Pica Spitfire is developing a stress crack in the wing from the leading edge directly in front of and through to the retract mount on the left side. I plan on removing some of the wing sheeting to repair. Whilst I am in there I would like to look at moving the retract mounts forward to improve the ground handling.

I do not need them to scale, it is only to get an idea of what is in there before surgery. It would be great to get an idea of how much sheeting I can get away with removing before actually starting.

Thanks,

Jaz

Hi Guys,

Here is a video from this mornings flight with my ESM 72" Spitfire.

This plane is a blast to fly and as you may guess from watching I am a bit of a sucker for speed!

It is powered by a DLE-30 with Mejzlik 18x10. It also has a custom J Tec slim wrap around pitts muffler for the Aeroworks Cessna 195.

The 18x10 Mejzlik a perfect prop for the 30. Any bigger and it can't get into the power band. Plus the Mejzlik is a tough prop and can most often handle a nose over without breaking.

Picked up a top Flite spitfire 60 kit. I would like to use electric power. Would like to hear what other people used for there power setup and how you get access to the battery. Also if you ran into any problems building and flying the plane on electric power.

Happy new year to all out there! Santa placed under the Christmas tree for me a TF 60 size Spitfire kit this year! Now the wife tells me that I can stay out of trouble at home this winter! Haha. :) Although most of you have seen this kit before, I will post some pics from time to time on my progress, and have info on the choices on Engine, as well as other ideas that come in mind. If there is a chance, please sign me up for the Brotherhood! Thanks.

I have a Pica 60 that used a Himax 5030 [ http://www.maxxprod.com/pdf/HC5030-390.pdf ] on 6S. This motor has tons of power. But two things to keep in mind when selecting motors, pay close attention to the prop size range and batteries. You have to watch you ground clearance and using too small a prop is going to give you high amps. Also using less cells may not give you the power you looking for.

Hi everyone,

I'm looking to do a rebuild of a Pica 1/5 scale. I'm rebuilding the wing and gear area of this plane. If anyone has the ability to send some pics of the plans for the wing or PDF of them that might go a long ways. I have templated the two ribs that disintegrated but I'm hoping to see the area where the gear rails tie in. None the less here are some starter pics of the rehab. If anyone can assist the email address is [email protected] Thanks.

Here are some pics of my Pica 1/5 Spit. I have it up for sale on RCU for 6 more days and then it's back in the sky where it belongs. G 62, Springaire retracts , glassed and painted.

Check6,

Have you tried one of the APC T-6 racing props? They haul a 102" AT-6 over 140 mph with an open exhaust. Should do wonders for a clean airframe. Horizon stocks the now.

Zulu,
Thank you for the info. I was thinking about using an Eflite power 90, I'll check over in the electric forum.

Hi Lifer,
Thanks for the tip. I have been using an APC 22x10 don't know if this is the same prop. I went to horizons web site but couldn't locate the T6 prop.
Thanks,
Fred
