Default Backdraft 8e Battery upgrade help

I was just looking at the hop ups and such on the redcat website and noticed how the batteries that come with the backdraft are 59.99 and lower mah than this battery they have posted for 47.99 6s 5000mah and just wondering if evn though the numbers are greater, they might not be as good. Not wording this right sorry guys. Just doesnt seem correct that the replacement battery is more but looks like less powerful.... Also wondering if that 47.99 battery is one and would need to purchase 2 since the 8e holds 2 lipos and such. It looks like the battery at 47.99$ is greater mah and 6s by itself. Please correct any ignorant and noob questions or comments ive made.

i personally would not run 6s on my 8E(will be getting one soon)
the ESC may be rated for 6s, but thats gonna push it.

i have a pair of 2s 30c 5000mah lipos i got off ebay. $50 shipped for the pair. you do have to add plugs on them, but they are pretty good for the money.
the 5000mah means longer runtimes than the stock lipos.
just search AKKU on ebay and you will find them. i have the soft pack version, but for a few extra bucks you can get hard cased ones.

You can run 4s or two 7.4v 2s lipos with the hobby wing 80 amo esc. Hobbyking has some good deals. I am running twin 2s 7.4 5200mah 30c Turnigy lipos and they are great! 23.99 each online.</p>

Still not understanding why this 6s 5000mah battery isnt better than the stock battery? Or why Iwouldnt want a 6s battery over a 4s or 2s. seems like if i get two of those then that would be a beast pair. i know its already fast but looking to buy another pair not stock to take out with me after i run a faster (stronger) pair out. maybe the 47.99 im looking at on the redcat website is 2 3s batteries but it really looks like just one. also wondering what kinda charger I should get to better charge my stock set and my uprgraded batteries once i figure out which ones to get.

look up the imex B6 charger on ebay.

the ESC "can" handle a 6s lipo. but IMO, its a bad idea. parts will be more likely to fail, and the ESC or motor my go up in smoke!

everything on that truck is designed around the power plant. everything is built to handle the speed and power of 4s. 6s is really insane.

even the hpi savage flux is prone to problems when running 6s!

BTW, can you post a link to that 6s lipo? i couldnt find it.

You can't run 6s on the 80amp ESC you will fry it........ just (4s) this is a set of or 2 lipos (7.4v 20c 5000 mah) I would not go more than 30c and stay 7.4v

you are right! i was thinking of the 150 amp one. that one can do 6s.
the 80amp has a 4s limit.
get some 2s 30c 5000mah lipos.

guessing esc is a part ur all referring to. the battery ive been looking at is here but might be reading it wrong http://www.redcatracing.com/RC-Cars/.../Tenergy-11233 .really just starting to get into all this but the backdraft looks pretty fast and seeing even better batteries makes it hard to stay with stock. not sayin the stock wont be enough for me id just like to have a spair pair and if they are better then why not get the best. i dont want to fry anything though cuz ive done that trying to overclock my cpu so i know how that story goes lol. thanks for all the input guys and not making me feel like an idiot. just trying to figure out how to read all the numbers and whats best for the car and best performance. again ill post the two batteries ive been talking about. http://www.redcatracing.com/RC-Cars/.../Tenergy-11233 ... the stock is i think http://www.redcatracing.com/RC-Cars/...arts/BS803-028

OK, now i see!
thats a 7.2v nimh pack. it has 6cells, but is not at all like a 6s(cell) lipo. a 6s lipo is 22.2v!
2 of those 7.2 tenergy packs would only bearly match the output of the stock 2s lipos.
i thought it was odd that redcat had a 6s pack, when none of their cars use 6s.

Yes i think the way they worded it made it seem like one battery. Especially since it said "NiMh 7.2v 5000 6-Cell Battery. With even more power than the Tenergy
3800, this 6-cell pack will increase the speed and runtime of your Redcat vehicle even more". It even makes it seem like it since it says more speed and runtime. Thanks for all the help. Since everyone knows im an idiot for thinkin it was a 6s battery can anyone tell me where to get that 7.4 30c 5000mah batteries mentioned earlier? Ibet anything when i buy my extra pair im going to buy 2 extra pairs thinkin im buying two batteries not 4 lol. Like i was going to buy that pack i mentioned early TWICE since i thought it was just one beast mode battery. any links or site names and battery names whatever would help. Thanks guys

A lot of people pick up the hobby king batteries. They are not for the big racer types, as the batteries can be a little inconsistent, but for us local racers they keep costs down. www.hobbyking.com

might be a dumb question but since my backdraft will take 2 lipos do i need to buy 2 of those or does that 23.99 i see buy both? im guessing ill need two of those which is ok since the price for a 30c 5200mah is cheap. just makin sure cuz those links show one but not sure if thats just for the picture. or if my buggy takes 2 lipos i should get two. total of like 50$

Check out this site they got some good prices on the Lipo's as well and they got 9000mah 2s2p 35C 7.4v lipos for $50 or the 5000mah 2s 30C @ $27.08 - $34.09 and a 7.4V 2s 5000mah 40C @ $38.59

I dont know much about the electric stuff but came across these and thought I would share the info.

well copy and paste is the one thing i can help out with on this site since i dont know jack about rc yet. heres the hop up list for the backdraft. http://www.redcatracing.com/s.nl and if that doesnt work go the parts section at the top, find ur car, i just click the picture, scroll down and ull see a list of lists to look at from engines, parts, hop ups, tools, like 6 lists you can look at and one is hop ups so just check that and hit search and itll show the list of all hop ups for the vehicle(s) u checked earlier. real easy once u find it lol

right above where you can choose 1/5 scale and all those tabs there are more tabs and one says part search. once you go there you scroll and find or check ur car and then itll have the lists i mentioned before. it isnt going to the link i thought it would when i pasted the site for hop ups exactly so i hope from the explanation you can figure it out.

If you run 2 6S lipos you'll let the smoke out

Yup, "letting the smoke out" is a term for frying your elecronics. Not sure how a backdraft will run on 2 3S lipos. Has anyone done it yet?
