no clue what ur trying to say. maybe if u said ill smoke it by doin that...meaning fry something lol. figured out they werent 6s but im still thinkin of gettin 2 3ss lipos not just 2 2s lipos

4s = 2 2s 7.4vlipo 4s system

6s = 2 3s 11.1v lipo6s system

When I got into electric rc It was hard to figure at first............. With the stock ESC and motor on the Backdraft or any 8E series run only:
4s = 2 2s 7.4vlipo if you run 6s = 2 3s 11.1v lipo you will: ("let the smoke out") you will fry the ESCand maybe do damage to the motor!!!

If you want the 3s or 2of the3s 11.1 lipos that would be a 6s system........... you will need to upgrade the stock 80amp ESC.
hope this helps

Default RE: Backdraft 8e Battery upgrade help

well that helps a lot. Ive been looking for 3s batteries but didnt buy since i didnt know if it would fry it for not. that basic info of 3s being 11.2v or whatever gave me the answers i had left. Ill be sticking with 2s 5000+ mah and 30c. But when im looking at so 30c units it has on there that some do like a 40c burst or such so Idon't know if thats safe or not. Ifigure it is since it says a constant 30c and a burst of 40c+. But if that 40c or whatever is even just a 2 second burst it might do damage in just that few seconds. Dont think ill ever get it at full speed or throttle especially if i upgrade the lipos i assume. But we know what assuming does!! Thanks everyone for you constant help and info!! Greatly appreciated.

every battery i think about getting even the one you posted says its for a 1/10th scale. I guess they dont have many options for a true 1/8th scale battery. So im wondering if its going to be a problem or big problem putting all these batteries on any site yall have posted in my 1/8th buggy. backdraft 8e of course yall know. just dont want the batteries moving around or hearing it hit the side since it seems like they will be just a little bit too small. Or if they are the same size batteries just meant for 1/10 then i guess its ok. Just not sure if they will have alittle extra room in the battery slots being made for 1/10th.

There is no diff between the 1/10 and 1/8 scale batteries the Venoms I use are the same size as the stock 8e lipos so you should be fine 1/10 scale batteries and 1/8 scale use the same mah and voltage and c rate. Some may slightly bigger or smaller just measure the stock lipo to make sure the new ones will fit and go from there............

thanks. yeah i figured id just messure before i bought any others. but can you help me with the 40c burst i mentioned before? ive been looking at some nice batteries that say 30c constant and 40c burst (10 seconds). just wanna know if that burst will damage anything or if its fine since its just a burst. i was told to not go over 30c with the backdraft 8e. i would love a constant 25c or 30c and burst of 40-50c if its safe. ive seen some 30c constant and 50c burst so if its safe id probably go that route. thanks for the info on the battery size. im sure if its a little small i can find a way to make it not rattle or move.

20c will have 30c burst that is what I would stay with but a 25 or 30 c will have about a 40c burst 40c constantwill be too much for the motor after a few runs it will burn up..

what about 30c cont 40 or 50c burst

Personally I would stay away from anything with 50c you should be ok with a 30c cont. A cust of Kurt@URCHobby has a Backdraft that he converted to run asphalt racing, he runs a 40c lipo and has gone thru 3 or 4 motors at $60 a pop but it is nastyon the course he says... I would just run a 20c 25c const witha30-35 burst and be done if that won't work for you then get this:

http://www.castlecreations.com/produ...a_monster.html

my buddy had in his HPI Savage Flux truck ($600 new )and he could run6s on it.. and it laughed at it....................... it would eat 4s for breakfast and crap 6s..... dead reliable ............it was sick fast !!!! but that system alonewould cost about as much as a new Backdraft 8e.
