First you have to make sure that the transmitter is in the neurtral position, then turn the small screw under the air cleaner in the front of the carb counterclockwise to lower the idle. if this doesnt work you will have to adjust the throttle linkage and collar nuts.

In case your a newb and you dont know how to navigate this sight very well (Im not so new to the hobby anymore but I still cant use half of what this sight has to offer) Ill tell you what I did when I had your problem. Im not so sure why they call it an "idle adjustment screw" because I can turn mine all day long and it never seems to change the opening on the carb much. What I ended up doing was to treat it like a set screw. Unscrew the screw sticking out below the carburator a little and set your carb opening to about 1/8 inch or where ever your engine seems to idle the best. Put your car on a shoebox or something so that you can run the car with the wheels off of the ground even if they're turning. Once you get the carb opening where you want it, tighten the screw back up and this should keep the carb from closing all the way when you apply the breaks. Take your time and try not to get frustrated. It took me the better part of a month to get my first car up and running. Its just about too much fun now. Post here again if you need more help or need more details. I also allways recomend getting the "Ultimate Nitro Engine Guide", cause it did wonders for me.
